I take every family member and visitor to OLD TOWN SACRAMENTO. It is SO wonderful to SEE the history of the city and it's growth to what it is today. I think it's called "saving the best for last"! Patsy harmony-travel.net

This is part of OLD TOWN in Sacramento, CA. Actually, it was the FIRST town build in Sacramento in the mid-1800s. Why? It was on the river...the only method of transportation with the exception of horses and mules. I LOVE to visit Old Town and try to go monthly, so I can't wait to take you with me. I hope you saw this shot of the Sacramento River and the Delta King Hotel. Too bad we can't stay here overnight! But, you can take a break from walking all around OLD TOWN, find a table next to the river view and order your favorite beverage for a wee little sit-down rest! Patsy

Before the Delta Queen became a hotel/restaurant/bar, she DID chug up and down the Sacramento River as the only travel option other than horse or on foot in the 1800s. By the way, we'll be spending some goodly time in OLD TOWN SACRAMENTO and you might want to pop in here for a cool glass of something and enjoy the incredible view of the river. harmony-travel.net

This is part of Old Town Sutter Creek, CA! GOLD was discovered in a coal mine in the mid-1800s and the gold rush began! Word was spread all over the world and people traveled here to find their fortune. As it turned out, they stayed. They build homes and businesses.
