Our tree-lined street is located in an older neighborhood in Sacramento. The home on the property was built in 1925. Our neighborhood has some gems: plenty of free street parking, a local bakery (Freeport Bakery) and donut shop (Marie's Donuts) close by. The zoo and Fairytale town are close by as well as a huge Sunday farmers market. Our home is located walking/biking distance to the capitol, convention center, parks, the zoo, Old Sacramento, and numerous restaurants/bars/galleries/clubs downtown as well as several restaurants and a local brewery on Broadway (New Helvetia). There is an old theatre very close by (Tower Theatre) as well as Tower Restaurant, with a beautiful outdoor eating area. The Sacramento convention center is located 1.7 miles by car and 1.3 miles by foot. Restaurants: There are many ethnic restaurants within walking distance: Japanese, Thai, Ethiopian, Himalayan, Chinese, American, pizza, burgers, and Tower Cafe is a mix. Some breakfast places we recommend within walking distance are Tower Cafe, Dad's Restaurant, and Iron. Please visit Sacramento visitors website for additional information about the city, places to go, and things to do! Getting around
Free street parking on our street. Please do not block anyone's driveway (they are small in older neighborhoods). Light rail (Sacramento Regional Transit) and bus stops are conveniently located 1-2 blocks away. We are right off the freeway, and you can rent bicycles at Practical Cycle or City Bicycle Works. The Yolo Bus goes to and from the airport and picks up downtown. If you are new to using local taxi services and would like your first ride free, use code fdspl for Uber and briana74 for Lyft. Other things to note
The apartment combines a mix of old and new. There is a window AC unit, fans, as well as 2 space heaters to provide comfort in the seasons. Please be energy and water conscious. We offer free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate along with occasional snacks or in season fruit located in the apartment. There is a Keurig coffee maker in the unit with regular and decaf. There is Brita filtered water located inside the mini fridge. There is no stove or oven (just a kitchenette). There is a convection oven located in the outdoor kitchen if you need it, (it may be dusty is all). The futon in the living space folds down to a queen size bed if needed for an extra sleeping surface. Our unit is kid-friendly but not entirely kid-proof. We can provide a Pack 'n Play upon request, and there are some outdoor and indoor toys provided as well as child-friendly dishware.
