It's Manatee Season down here at the Marina! ✨

Safety Harbor is full of natural springs, some of which empty directly into Tampa Bay. These springs are a constat 72 degrees year round, and manatees congregate near them when the water temperature drops in the winter. If you get lucky, you can see these sea cows from the marina or even the pier! 💧🐮

Mangroves are one of the most important parts of Tampa Bay's Ecosystem. They provide shelter from predators, safe breeding grounds for fish, and protection from costal erosion. Their seeds can float thousands of miles across open ocean, which is why mangroves are found in almost every tropical costal region in the world! 🌴

The Florida Crown Conch, or Megalogena corona, is all over Tampa Bay! This mollusk is carnivorous and likes to feed on live oysters 🐚🍽️
It is so common that if you don't see one, our staff would be happy to point one out for you anytime 🌴

What is a sea kayak 🛶❓
Sea kayaks are built for longer distances and tougher conditions, with a rudder controlled by pedals inside the boat. It also has a slimmer design, allowing you to paddle faster.
We include a bilge pump, but Tampa Bay is usually pretty calm. If you've never tried one before, they're definitely a different experience!
