One of the reasons I chose this condo was this fabulous sandbar that is on the property's private beach. These pics are during low tide so the sandbar doesn't seem quite as big on high tide but it's definitely still there. It's perfect for young children and the elderly who want to be out in the Ocean but are not fans of the waves. You can get a good feel for how far out it goes by looking at the pics from the ocean back towards the condo. The beach is super nice too, no rocks, nice white powdery sand and sometimes seashells to collect.

The Itrip folks, who manage Grandma's Rest East, have been doing a fabulous job! Check out the video that they have posted on Youtube! Now that I've watched it, I want to pack up and go! Grandma's Rest East is my vacation home too so I'm committed to comfort - my guests and my own.

Here is something else I would like to share with you. Grandma's Rest East is also being advertised on pages like VRBO, AirBnB, etc," which all charge a traveler's fee or service charge. If you are interested in staying at Grandma's Rest East for an awesome beach vacation, you can book directly on the Itrip website and you won't be charged a service charge! In addition, you also receive free tickets to some of the local attractions. Best of all, in the unlikely event that you do encounter an issue with the condo, the people at Itrip you will speak to are real, local residents of the area, not just some voice you hear over the phone.

I'd also like to share some of the reviews that Grandma's Rest East has received that I just discovered! Thank you to all who took the time to write these 5 star reviews! Please note that returning guests receive a 10% discount on the base rental rate. We are in the process of setting up discount codes but if you let me know you are booking a return stay, I will ensure you get the discount. Taxes and admin fees (like cleaning) are excluded, as well as certain seasonal and holiday weeks.

Hello Everyone! I have some exciting news to share! Grandma's Rest East is now partnering with Itrip.net! I am no longer associated with Evolve. I have been at the Condo the last week, conducting interviews for new cleaners and brainstorming for a better way of doing things. I believe Itrip.net are THE folks I'm looking for to help me manage the condo and provide the best experience for my future guests. I have worked with my new cleaning service, personally, and can vouch that you will have a sparkling clean condo that you will rave about! You may see Grandma's Rest East advertised on the usual travel sites, however, if you book directly thru the itrip.net website you will have NO SERVICE CHARGE!!!

This was the nicest condos my Mom and I have stayed in. The condo was clean and well kept. The facilities were easy to get to and clean. The view of the ocean were amazing! The pool was nice and very clean. It was a very family oriented place. We visit this area every year in June. We hope to stay here again next June!

VACATION RENTAL PLAN FOR ST JOHNS COUNTY HAS BEEN APPROVED!!!

I give everyone who was vacationing at Grandma’s Rest East permission to go out and buy a new swim suit!!!

As promised, here is the most recent update I have.

St John's County has submitted a plan to re-open vacation rentals. Here is a link to the plan that was submitted should you prefer to read it yourself.

Key points of the plan:
----there needs to be a 24 hour turnaround time per guests to leave time for extra sanitation and disinfecting procedures.. This means that guests checking out in the morning and new guests arriving in the afternoon of the same day isn't happening yet.

----Guests need to continue social distancing, frequent handwashing, etc, all the things they were doing at home need to be done on vacation

----Owners need to put away decorative pillows and throw blankets so if the condo looks a little sparse, it's not our fault, we are just following the rules :)

----Guests will be asked to leave all fans on when they leave to facilitate the clearing of the air

----Guests from high risk areas, as stated by the governor, must book for a longer amount of time than the time period for self quarrantine. If you are from, for example, NY, you must book your rental for more than the quarantine period (2 weeks)

The rest of the plan outlines the sanitation procedures and various things the property maintenance should include.

This plan has been SUBMITTED to the state govt review board for approval. It has NOT been approved yet. Keep stopping by, I will post the news as soon as there is some.

For my June guests, especially the ones booked for the 1st of June, have faith, it could still happen! My guess is that this isn't happening for Memorial Day but it could go into effect, if approved, by June 1.

Lord knows I have every finger and toe crossed hoping this will happen by Friday 5/22!

Hi Everyone! Today, I emailed the St Johns county commissioner for the district that I actually reside in, asking if a plan to re-open vacation rentals had been submitted to the governor yet (Grandma's Rest East is also located in St Johns County). Here is the response I received:
