My favorite thing about international travel is immersing myself in different cultures.

Singapore is a melting pot of different ethnicities & cultures & it only takes a few minutes on the MRT (metro) to get a taste.

Chinatown even offers variety. For instance, I had an amazing lunch at a Turkish stall in a Chinese hawker center.

I visited a Hindu temple in the heart of Chinatown. Most religious Chinese are Buddhist.

My favorite experience thus far was spending time at the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, home of hundreds of thousands of Buddhas.

In borrowed garb, I covered my shoulders and knees and climbed a few stairs of a platform where I sat on a floor cushion with a handful of others and practiced the ancient art of meditation.

The fact that a Christian medal of St. Anthony hangs around my neck wasn’t lost on me.

In my world, spirituality means it doesn’t matter which God or Gods or Saints you worship (if any).

What matters is that you are kind and loving and have every intention of leaving this world better than you found it.

A few days ago in Bangkok, I had lunch and dinner with a dark-skinned Tuscan Scott. Today in Phuket, I went to a cooking school ran by an Thai-born Indian. As if my brain wasn't confused enough with a twelve hour time difference. 😊
I ♥️ meeting new friends especially when their accents don't match their appearance.

This is Denmark’s Nyhavn- (pronounced New-How) area in Copenhagen. When I decided to visit, I imagined the whole city looked like this.

It doesn’t.

But there are pockets of beauty everywhere.

The best part of traveling is getting to know the different cultures and how they operate.

The people here are so so nice. In fact, they are some of the happiest people in the world. And here’s a fact I just learned- Denmark has nine different major political parties! Can you imagine? 😄

A couple of months ago, I was interviewed for this documentary on solo female travelers from around the world.
Well, it's finally out!!!
Some of these women overcome physical and cultural obstacles to put themselves out there. Others, like me, are wives and mothers and just do it because we love traveling solo.
I have such admiration for these amazing bad-ass women travelers and if you watch this, hopefully you will too.
