What in the world is rope drop? 🤷♀️
Well in Disney lingo, rope drop is a strategy used by guests to maximize their time in the parks by arriving super duper early! Guests who arrive early are directed to the rope dropping areas where cast members are holding a literal rope across a walkway and will drop the rope the minute early entry starts.
This strategy is used mainly to ride big ticket rides with a shorter wait but also to enjoy minimal crowds at Cinderlla Castle and Main Street USA!
Tips for rope drop:
1. Arrive at the park 30-45 min before early entry to secure you spot in the crowd behind the rope!
2. Know which rides you are headed to at rope drop! We were pretty lucky on our last trip and had minimal waits during rope drop at each park. This is what we rope dropped:
Magic Kingdom: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
EPCOT: Frozen
Hollywood Studios: Mickey and Minnies Runaway Railway
Animal Kingdom: Navi River Journey
3. Bring your patient pants! There were pretty big crowds but once the rope drops, people disperse and it calms down. We did not witness people running over children with strollers or that much running at all! It was pretty tame!
😀It's definitely worth it and would recommend trying rope dropping for the experience too!
Sword in the Stone
🗡This was just the coolest thing ever! My daughter Phoebe was a lucky one!
🏰Did you know that at Magic Kingdom guests can try their hand at pulling Excaliber from the stone?
🧙♂️Based on the tale of King Arthur, (turned Disney movie The Sword in the Stone), this unique experience is located just beside Prince Charming Regal Carrosel behind Cinderella Castle!
👑See if you are the rightful King next time you are in Magic Kingdom!
