Make plans to attend the Aunt Pearlie Sue, Dance, Blues & BBQ program hosted by the St. George Rosenwald School. This program will feature Aunt Pearlie Sue with her unique storytelling style along with a dance group from the State of Washington who will demonstrate wrapping the May Pole. The Steve Jarvis Band with also perform with guest singer "Mahogany".

Barbecue will be available for purchase. This is a family friendly event so there will not be alcohol.

Tours of the facility will be offered by the Alumni Tour Guides.

Want to take a stroll in the moonlight? You can AND with these programs with Beidler Forest Audubon Center & Sanctuary!

Our nocturnal schedule is live and registration is open! Night Explorations occur around full moons and rely only on moonlight (no flashlights!), while Family Forays occur around new moons in the fall and guests are given ultraviolet flashlights to hunt for things that glow in the dark. A guide will lead you out into the swamp under the cover of night and you'll become more acquainted with many of the things that thrive when the sun goes down.

As for firefly programs in 2024... Don't worry. We're going to be offering them. We'll have more information about them in the spring.

It's a great day to go out and on International Education Day!
Today's all about re-evaluating education and highlighting its importance in your area.
Here's a few things you can do to celebrate today in Dorchester County:

1) If you're looking to continue your education, look into classes with the Trident Tech Dorchester County Campus or Dorchester County Adult Education.
2) Head down to your local Dorchester County Library and check out some books or see what programs they have coming up.
3) If you're a parent with a child in a Dorchester School District Two or Dorchester School District 4 school, take the time to get involved. Help your child with their homework and see what curriculum they're learning.

It's never too late to broaden your horizons and learn new things! Go out there and !
