This is the company that made the kits for most of if not all the treehouses on Fripp. My house was put together in 1974. The company is still producing kits and is based in North Carolina. They have a lot more designs now than they did back in the 70s.

Maker of the world’s finest quality and most unique post & beam and panelized custom homes. Specializing in elevated homes on pedestals and stilts, resistant to hurricanes and earthquakes. Thousands of Topsider homes have been built worldwide since 1968

It's awesome to watch a movie and see some of your favorite spots in your favorite town. Watching Forrest Gump can make you feel right at home in Beaufort.

Been going to Fripp since 1986 and didn't know this.

Great photo.

Wow! This amazing once-in-a-lifetime photo of a loggerhead sea turtle emerging from the Atlantic at sunrise is just awesome. ❤

Great to hear there are record numbers of these guys this year.

This is a Loggerhead Hatchling from Nest #2 making his way to the ocean where he will travel close to 60 miles to reach the Gulf Stream. There he will embed in the floating vegetation of the Sargasso Sea and from that safety, feed and grow.

This is about St. Phillips Island which is between Fripp and Hilton Head. Look forward to checking it out.

Interesting details about future plans.

Love playing this course. Can't beat the scenery on every hole.

Our Ocean Creek Course has been looking great recently. If you haven't already, make time to go by and play a round!

Look forward to checking the new restaurant Fishcamp out this month. Fishcamp is where Dockside was for years till a couple of years ago when there was a fire and they decide to close that location.

There's a new restaurant in town! Fishcamp on 11th Street opened this weekend, and it's safe to say locals already love it! It's sister to the Fishcamp on Broad Creek in Hilton Head and will be serving up the same delicious menu!

For the time being, the restaurant is only serving dinner from 4-10PM, and then drinks until closing. Be sure to check out this new location!!!

Sorry that North of us got hit but glad we had no issues on Fripp. Keeping fingers crossed for the rest of the season.

All your prayers and well wishes worked! Florence decided not to visit Fripp and we are so thankful. Looking forward to getting back to business as usual!

Great pic and Gay Seafood is great place to get local seafood.

Just another typical Lowcountry day.

Didn't know this.

The horseshoe crab is not a true crab and is actually more closely related to scorpions. Horseshoe crabs are living fossils that have been around for more than 350,000,000 years. http://bit.ly/2NG9lu5

Miss seeing Pat Conroy around Fripp. Enjoyed watching some of the scenes from Prince of Tides that were filmed on Fripp. Don't think they would allow it to be filmed now because they used big boom lighting to film at night on the beach. Now they don't allow any lights near the beach during turtle season.

Conroy fans! Bring on the popcorn and enjoy your own Lowcountry film festival
Turner Movie Classics will be running three Pat Conroy films tonight, Friday, July 27, 2018:

• The Great Santini
• The Prince of Tides
• Conrack

Did you know there is a Florida statute that makes it unlawful to intentionally release more than 10 balloons at a time? Let's do better and not release any balloons and find a safer alternative, like blowing bubbles or flying kites. http://www.flsenate.gov/Laws/Statutes/2014/379.233

🦌 Why shouldn’t I feed deer?

1. Habituation
Deer that are fed by humans become dependent on the easy food source and stop foraging. Deer are much better at feeding themselves on their own. When you feed deer and then stop, or when the food temporarily runs out, they will go hungry and may become a nuisance as they search for more easy food. Once deer are habituated, they can become demanding, even bumping at doors and windows to get their expected hand-out. It may seem manageable to feed a doe with two fawns in the spring, but by fall they become three adults demanding dinner every day. Additionally, landscaping and vegetation can be damaged where deer are concentrated around feeding areas. Before you put out food for deer, keep in mind that they are wild animals, not pets, and it’s better for you and for them if they stay wild.
