This is a great time of year to think about getting away! Fr. Declan McNicholas is leading a fun and holy trip to Kentucky May 29-June 2. You may or may not realize how much rich Catholic history is in this great state. We will visit some beautiful churches, have daily Mass and be led in prayer as we travel.

For all you whiskey lovers, this is one not to be missed! We will be traveling along the whisky trail visiting some of your favorite and well known distilleries (touring and tasting at each). We will also introduce you to some new whiskey varieties and brands! Certainly you can do the whiskey trail on your own, but why not leave the driving and planning to us and just relax and enjoy yourself? We will also be visiting the Whiskey Museum. You are sure to learn a lot on this trip about the Prohibition Era and many other historical events that helped shape this section of our great country! If you are not a fan of whiskey, no worries there are other options of things to taste and enjoy.

Stella Maris Tours had two groups down in Chicago this month on pilgrimage. Chicago truly has some of the most beautiful Cathedrals, Basilica and shrines! It’s one of the greatest cities. There’s so much to see and do! We make going into the city easy. We do all the planning and all the driving! You just relax and enjoy your day. We’ve got some great options lined up for 2025. Kentucky pilgrimage with a wonderful group of pilgrims! There are so many Catholic sites to see! Cathedrals, Basilicas, bishops homes dating from the early 1800’s. Visited Thomas Merton’s tomb and Abbey (Gesthemani). We saw the Ark Encounter and more! Had some great meals ( including one in an old KY home), on a paddlewheel cruise on the Ohio river and some Southern bbq as well! Got to see a Kentucky Derby horse farm - these animals are gorgeous! Some of the group chose to do an option cooking class. Of course we hit the Bourbon trail and visited the Bourbon museum! Some of the distilleries we visited were: Jefferson’s Ocean, Buffalo Trace, Rabbits Hole, Angels Envy, Four Roses (who I must mention had the Ave Maria playing when we walked in) and several others! On Tuesday, December 10th Stella Maris Tours is offering a one day pilgrimage to Chicago to Our Lady of Sorrows, the National shrine of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini & St. Mary of the Angels. Each of these is more beautiful than the next! We will also have a stop at a fun lunch spot downtown. This pilgrimage will depart from St. Charles Borromeo in Hampshire, IL at 7am and arrive back by 5pm. You will be led in prayer by Fr. David Finn as we travel. The Lord provided wonderful weather for our Milwaukee pilgrimage yesterday with Fr. Bob Jones! There are some beautiful places to see in Milwaukee, including two sites on the Marquette campus (The Gesu and Joan of Arc Chapel). They also had private mass at the breathtaking St. Josaphat Basilica! You can’t go wrong at the public market for lunch either. A great day was had by all. Wonderful Catholic in Kentucky pilgrimage with Fr. Nate Edquist and Stella Maris Tours! They visited many Basilicas and historical sites throughout the state including the monastery of Thomas Merton. Of course they hit the bourbon trail as well! They ended with a paddlewheel riverboat cruise. Great guides. Organized itineraries. A holy and fun time was had by all!

Join Fr. Bob Jones Friday, October 18 on an awesome one day pilgrimage to Milwaukee! We will depart from St. Thomas in Crystal Lake, IL and visit the St. Joan of Arc Chapel on the Marquette Univ. Campus. Here you will find a stone that St. Joan of Arc prayed upon that maintains a warmer temperature than the surrounding stones! This stunning Chapel was brought over piece by piece from France. We will also visit the Church of the Gesu, St. Josaphat's Basilica , the Public Market indoor food court for lunch and even have a stop on the way home at the Lasalette Shrine. Two wonderful pilgrimages last week! One with St. John the Evangelist Catholic School, 8th graders to Chicago to visit the Mother Cabrini shrine and Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica. And one with St. John the Evangelist Parish in St. John, Indiana to the only approved Marian apparition site in the United States – Our Lady of Champion! Such a beautiful way to spend a day during Lent – traveling to Holy sites.
