It’s been 10 days since Milton hit. People often ask me what I do in the offseason, and with it starting earlier than anticipated, I bought a dump trailer and started Captain Vinnie’s Cleanup. For the past 9 days, I’ve been working 8-12 hours a day, cutting trees, cleaning up debris, and doing what I can.

It feels like a never-ending process, but it's all getting done. The roads are full of trailers hauling debris to the dump, linemen restoring power, city officials coordinating, and FEMA teams helping out.

Thankfully, we finally have gas, and most of the power and internet have been restored. This is something I’ll never forget. My back and hands hurt, but we’ll get through this, and it will all be behind us before we know it.

Looking forward to seeing you all next year.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to check in—we’re safe (again), and the boat is safe too. It’s been a crazy busy past few days, and we’re still without power. It could be up to seven days or more before it's restored, in some areas. The inland areas are dealing with a massive amount of tree and debris cleanup after Hurricane Milton, though we’re thankful the beach didn’t see the flooding that was originally predicted. Prayers for the community as we all push through this tough cleanup.

Hopefully, this is the last hurdle for the year. November 30th is the last day of hurricane season, and it can't come soon enough—let’s hope the rest of the season stays quiet.

We are safe, and the boat is safe. I made sure to move it off the beach two days before Hurricane Helene hit. The area experienced the worst flooding I’ve ever seen, and the aftermath is tough. Prayers are needed for the community as the clean-up begins.

Spring break has been busy and beautiful, with water resembling a calm lake yesterday with amazing visibility. Water temperatures are hitting the upper 70s, bringing out plenty of marine life like cownose rays, eagle rays, manta rays, and manatees. Dolphins have been playful, even jumping out of the water on most trips, with new baby dolphins spotted in the area. It's nesting season for pelicans, blue herons, and ospreys, making Pelican Island a cute spot to see baby birds. Book your reservation soon as spots are filling up fast for the next few months. The water is warming up quickly, making snorkeling at Egmont Key and Shell Key an absolutely amazing experience. We had crystal-clear visibility at the sunken ruins yesterday 🤿🐠. The dolphins have been putting on some spectacular shows, and we've also been treated to beautiful sunset tours. 🌅 We've been lucky enough to spot a few manatees in the area as the water temperature rises. ☀️Don't miss out on these unforgettable adventures! 🐬🏝️
