We absolutely love our local volunteers, and when we started this ride 5 years ago, we couldn’t think of a better organization to raise money for. Every year, this event helps fund equipment, training, and meals for the heroes who serve our community.

Lovely sentiments from visitors to this town!!

This Week's Word(s) on the Street - Friendly. Approachable. Authentic. Endearing

Four women wearing pink "Hiker Babes" t-shirts strolled into the Visitor Center this week. Having just floated the river in New Braunfels, they were on their way back to Dallas. They stopped here in Salado because many people had mentioned it to them. Of course, being avid hikers, we knew the beautiful one-mile Main Street would be a welcome stretch for them. They downloaded the VisitSalado app and went on their way. We said, "Come back in on your way out of town to give us your one-word description of Salado." All four came back, each with a different word for Salado!

Friendly. "In every shop we visited, everyone was so welcoming!"
Approachable. "Whatever you are looking for, it's just right there!"
Authentic. "It just takes you back. You feel like you've just stepped back into time. Some towns are "pretend" cute. Salado is authentically adorable."
Endearing. When we asked her to explain her word she said with a sigh, "It's not something I can explain....It's just a feeling you have."

Mission accomplished, Salado.

It’s Word out Wednesday!!!! Today we wanna get the word out about the Salado Senior Center! Talk about keeping busy. They have activities like dominos, pickleball, and yoga along with informational classes like technology and computer, phone scam prevention, and more. 10% of todays sales will go straight to them to help fund all of these activities and more. Wanna volunteer?!? Heck I wanna. Sounds like a day full of fun. Grab a friend and let’s make em some 💰!
