I went a little crazy with seed starting this year 🙀 too many for my garden for sure, I will definitely have some extras leftover for interested friends, there are probably 7 types of tomatoes, 5 types of peppers hot/mild, 4 types of basil (yes I know I have a problem 😆) herbs, melons, squash, watermelon and more. Just let me know if you need a few extras of something, I'm sure I have it 😊

Apparently some of the ladies made a plan to kid all day.. in succession today.... and it's definitely a year for the multiples twins/trips/quads all day 😆 12 in 4 hrs alone. We will have nice boers and sables available soon and I am sure Jadyn's Lakeside Goats will need to part with a few Nigerians as well this spring 😁.

Cleaning goat pens in windy, rainy weather calls for a nice dinner to relax.... I pulled out one of my favorite Italian cookbooks for inspiration Caitlin Zelms gifted me many years ago ❤. Coda alla vaccinara (Braised Oxtail with root vegetables, our own canned tomatoes, and local mushrooms) over panfried handmade gnocchi, finising the night off with Torta di ciliege e noci (cherry walnut cake) and ice cream made in Wisconsin.

Easy date night at home with the kids for dinner after doing fencing all day :). I couldn't resist the morels at River Valley Ranch - RVR and just was gifted some amazing goat cheese from the Murphy Family of Dream Farm in Cross Plains WI. They purchased another hard working lady from our farm, Oak Alley, to add to their dairy. Super quick and delish, mushroom baguette from River Valley, Italian Herb Goat Cheese, sauteed Morels in the oven to toast, top with microgreens for a green kick 😄

Kidding season has been well underway at Oak Alley since December :) We will have some lovely milkers posted for sale as well as some polled recorded grade and sable doe kids on our site shortly. We discount for youth/4hers and offer great prices when you purchase multiple animals. Our stock is healthy and registered as well :). Here is a cuteness preview 😍

Another great use for goat! Freshly ground goat meat topped with a tangy pistachio bacon goat cheese spread (goat cheese made here!), spinach/arugula, and currant jam canned this summer. Handcut fries and a beet and greens salad on the side. Turned out great (the family didn't even realize it was goat 😆)

Summer nights on the farm, flower picking is prime despite the drought paired with a delish charbroiled pork chop (home raised here) 🐖🐖 with drunken (wine sauteed) chicken of the woods mushrooms to top it off found in the oak woods where the goats graze🐐🐐🐐 and don't forget the veggies... a side of sauteed purple broccolini from the garden ❤❤❤

These are especially exciting as my first attempts at AI were successful with our two Toggenburgs, Caramel and Moonpie. They are bred to Neshminy Oaks RF Harvest. HOORAY!!!
