Just wanted to give a shout out to an awesome travel agent if you ever have the need. Sue and Harold at Christensen travel Concepts here in Salem are awesome and they have planned some great vacations for us! I have planned cruises and such by myself and found out the independent travel agent is a far better option. They have options to all the cruise lines and due to their collective block bookings they can get you a better much price than you can if you book directly with the cruise line. Not only is the process easier it is cheaper ! On our last trip Sue noticed the airfare out of London was hundreds of dollars cheaper if we delayed it just day— the hotel overnight was a much cheaper option and was served by the Heathrow pods. Our hotel in Athens was amazing- small new boutique hotel in the same block as 3 great restaurants and few blocks from the center of action. Sue knows me and even though it was a small hotel it even had a 24 hr gym downstairs to make me happy! She is great at arranging tours, finding places to store luggage and suggesting great places to add to your trip. Just this last trip alone we saved about two thousand dollars over what I would have paid if arranging myself. How long have I been using Christiansens travel? My first abroad trip was set up in 1986 as a surprise to Stasia before we had kids and Harold planned a perfect trip to Australia with my goal to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, see Sydney and see the fairy penguins (worlds smallest) south of Melbourne.
