The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Yuma Field Office has published the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to consider the effects of right-of-way applications for the Ranegras Plains Energy Center. A copy of the Draft EIS is available on the BLM’s ePlanning website: https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/project/2020050/510.

The 45-day public comment period for the draft EIS begins January 10 and ends February 25. The BLM invites you to participate by attending the upcoming virtual public meeting on February 5, 2025, and submitting comments by February 28, 2025.

Public Meeting
The BLM will hold a virtual public scoping meeting for the project using the Zoom application, which is free to download and use.

2. Once registered, you will receive a Meeting ID and Participant ID via email. Keep that confirmation email, as you will need it to join the meeting.

D L Wilson, Solar Projects Manager for La Paz County will be the guest speaker at the Chamber of Commerce board meeting tomorrow, Tuesday 1/14. All are invited to attend. We meet a noon at the chamber office, 66710 Highway 60 just west of Don's Cactus Bar.

On Wednesday Dec 4th, the Centennial Public Library will be closed. The La Paz County Health Department will be onsite that day from 2:30-3:30pm for Vaccinations in the Community Building.

Hi Salome and Wenden,

It’s time for us to step up and make sure our side of the county gets the attention it deserves! For far too long, this area has been neglected despite being the most populated. We have the power to change that—starting today.

I encourage both of you to visit the county’s website and get involved by adding to the interactive map. This is our chance to clearly show what we want to see in the future, and just as importantly, what we don’t want. The map will directly contribute to shaping and editing the county’s comprehensive plan, so it’s crucial that we represent our side of the county.
