One of our proudest moments was being honored in 2005 with a Presidential Citation from the Builders Association for our donation of the park rangers' quarters at Government Canyon State National Area located in northwest Bexar County. Mike’s oldest son Christopher is an Officer in the US Navy , who earned his degree in Cyber Security from the University of Maryland. Christopher is currently a Naval Aviator flying a P8 Poseidon Aircraft. Mike’s second son Ian is a Business Entrepreneur and is working in Texas and California. Mike’s two daughters, Mikayla and Lyndsie, who are both currently attending College in San Antonio. As a Christian, Mike, his family and entire staff take great pride in their work, giving thanks for all they have accomplished. Mike has found that keeping life's priorities in order, that being: God, family, then business, not only brings greater success, but also, balance and a higher level of satisfaction to himself, his entire team, and most importantly... his clients. Continuing education in the building industry is a must by our standards and is an inherent expectation of our valued clients. Mike has been certified and has achieved the following designations: Certified Graduate Builder (CGB), Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS/ADA), Certified Green Professional (CGP), and in 2008 Mike achieved the most prestigious and highest level of builder certification that the National Association of Home Builders offers and one of a select few in the United States, Graduate Master Builder.

Mike also believes in giving back and incorporates community service into the Robare Custom Homes company culture. Robare Custom Homes has participated in two Mi Casa Makeovers, completely renovating the homes of less fortunate families as well as Mi Casa My Community projects, which benefit local organizations. Mike has supported Big Brothers Big Sisters for many years and the most recent children's outreach is with Hug It Forward, a non-profit organization responsible for facilitating education and awareness by empowering communities to build “bottle schools”.
Bottle schools are built using post and beam construction, but instead of cinder-blocks the walls are made with plastic bottles stuffed with inorganic trash, as there is no waste management throughout most of Guatemala. Bottle schools clean up the environment and teach lessons about environmental sustainability. Mike has completely embraced the Hug It Forward mission and employees are given the opportunity to participate with the company paying the entire cost of their trip to Guatemala and paid time off as a benefit to serving others. In December of 2016, Mike traveled to dedicate the one-hundredth bottle school built in Guatemala. He headed a committee for 2017 and led three trips to Guatemala throughout the year. It is no surprise that crowning moment of 2017 was Mike Robare being named the Global Triple Star (Standing for Faith, Honor, & Integrity) 2017 Humanitarian of the Year .
