Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization

Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization There are about 400 MPOs across the country. While most MPOs are part of a city, county or council of governments, the Alamo Area MPO is an independent agency.

A Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is an agency created by federal law to provide local direction for urban transportation planning and the allocation of federal transportation funds to cities with populations greater than 50,000. The Alamo Area MPO develops transportation plans and programs to address the needs of the greater San Antonio area, including Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe and portion

s of Kendall Counties. The Transportation Policy Board leads the MPO and decides how federal and state transportation funds will be allocated for the region. If you are looking for more information about the MPO, please visit www.alamoareampo.org. Check out our Social Media Terms of Use:

Summer is here, and with kids out of school and road trip season in full swing, it’s the perfect time to review key safety practices. Whether you're heading across town or across the country, keep these tips in mind:
✔️Buckle up—everyone, every ride, day or night.
✔️Stay focused—put the phone away and never drive impaired or drowsy.
✔️Drive smart—follow speed limits, obey traffic signals, and slow down in work zones.
✔️Watch out for others—yield to pedestrians and cyclists.
✔️Protect kids and ensure children are properly secured in the right car seat for their age and size.
✔️Prep your vehicle—check tires and fluids before long trips.
✔️Whether you're driving, flying, or walking, a little preparation goes a long way. Travel smart and stay safe this summer!

Last week, we ceremoniously broke ground on the VIA Rapid Green Line—San Antonio’s first Advanced Rapid Transit corridor. We’re proud to partner with local leaders and community members on a project that moves San Antonio forward.

We can't wait to welcome our first Green Line riders in 2028. For more information about the VIA Rapid Green Line’s construction process visit www.keepsamoving.com/construction
