My baby just started kindergarten... my oh my how the time flies. The amazing thing about parenthood for me is the new capacity your heart expands into. I ache just looking at this shot five years later (I finally found time to edit it).

Heaven and Earth.
Been flying SF-Seattle-Vancouver frequently the last couple of years. I always ask for a window seat, because sometimes there is a snow-covered volcano outside begging for a portrait. 🌋.

Another shot from the archives I dug out for processing. Shanghai is really an extraordinary city, full of life and energy. Everything on the near side of the river is Pudong, the newest part of the city... and was undeveloped 15 years ago. Now it holds two of the largest buildings in the world and is a major financial center.

Altiplano, Bolivia. Squint hard enough and ignore the blue sky and it could be Mars. One of the most desolate, and exceptionally beautiful landscapes in the world. Those rocks in the foreground and distant boulders in the distance were likely dropped their by ancient eruptions from nearby volcanos like those in the distance.

Shanghai Sunset. Not many of them look this beautiful... happened to be in the right spot at just the right time (the observation deck of what was then the tallest building in the city - the World Financial Center).

Yosemite Storm
Another from the archives I just had fun editing. Unfortunately the phone screen doesn't really do it justice, but you can see full size on the "new work" section of my website. A winter storm was competing with sunset one evening, and I got a glimpse of both in a couple frames. The foreground waterfall was leaving the river as water and hitting the ground as snow... pretty magical.

Autumn Backroad, New Hampshire. Fall is here, even if it doesn't feel like it yet. Shot this years ago on a road trip through New England. Had to pull over and take a few frames... the light through the leaves was just too stunning. Want to get back there soon!

On my recent adventure in Ireland I escaped for a day to the Wicklow Mountains National Park solo. Driving on tiny winding roads with more sheep than cars was amazing... and the Joshua Tree soundtrack blasting from the rental car stereo was a perfect pairing.

Napali Coast from Above. Last Hawaii shot to share... hard to really capture the beauty and scope of this vista. Tiny tourist sightseeing helicopters were cruising way below me in the canyon as the trail ended with steep falls on both sides of the ridge. Made me feel very small in the amazing way only big nature can.
