Dropped my parents off at the airport so figured being so close to the boat we might as well go have a little fun! Trevor and I did a little exploring for some fatty flatties and that’s exactly what we found. My PB California halibut. 39” 27lbs. Super stoked. If you want to get in on the action just let us know. There are fun local options right now with local halibut and bluefin and yellowtail at the Coronado islands.(passports required at the islands)Let’s go fishing!

Captain is back! Ernie and his fiancée Cory have been hiking the Pacific Crest trail from Mexico to Canada the last half a year. After a successful journey and in true Ernie fashion he flew back last night and hopped on the boat at 4:30am this morning. and myself are stoked to have our fishing buddy back! With my family in town we enjoyed a beautiful day on the water. This was Chuck’s second trip to the islands. He is a boat dog in the making. Bluefin, yellowtail, lingcod, reds, sculpin and whitefish hitting the deck made the day even better. Let’s go fishing! We have plenty availability the next month and a half.

Captured a few yellowfin tuna a couple days ago on dolphin. Two on the troll and one on the popper. With hopes high we went offshore again today, found a few pods of dolphins but no love. Also found a paddy with a couple yellows on it but they didn’t want to play. Everyday is different and glad we took a look because you can’t find what you don’t look for.

Yellowtail, bluefin and bass on todays 3/4 day trip to the islands. Steady action despite the sea lions making our lives difficult. Lost quite a few fish. Just the name of the game.

The Reyes Family usually fish with us offshore every season but with the local offshore zones quiet right now we opted for the islands. 4 quality yellowtail and a bunch of bottom fish. There are still a good volume of fish at the islands including some boat shy bluefin tuna. Any given day they could let their guard down and things could get wild. Thanks and .homan for working hard to put some fish on the deck.

Chucks first adventure into the open ocean was a resounding success! We were blessed with sunny skies and calm seas as Chuck calibrated his sea legs. A great scoop of bait from was probably Chuck’s favorite catch of the day. We got to the islands and went straight to work. Consistent bending on good quality yellowtail and calico bass all morning long. Really couldn’t have scripted this chapter of Chuck’s story any better. After capturing what we wanted we found a large pod of dolphin on the way home. Overwhelmed by a morning of excitement lil chucky slept the whole boat ride home, Slept through refueling and slept the whole car ride home. A day to remember with

Went and took a look offshore in less than ideal conditions. Even pulled the marlin lures for a couple hours but no love offshore so we hit up the islands for some yellows and bonito. Grateful our customers had passports. The best of the local fishing is happening at the islands right now.

Great to be out on the water with enthusiastic kids. Both Amelia and Thomas caught their first fish ever! Mostly catch and release today but we did keep a few for ourselves:)

Covering a lot of ground, boxing areas that look good and burning our eyes out in the gyros looking for that magical paddy is the name of the game these days. The water is continuing to warm and the paddy’s are primed with bait ready for the next round of fish coming up from the south. Captain put our customers on the first yellowfins of the season along with a few yellowtail. We have availability in September and October. Let’s go fishing!

When he isn’t melting hearts, Captain Chuck is soaking in the sun and doing some boat maintenance. At 15 weeks this was Chuck’s first time stepping on the boat. He was pretty confident and fearless. He might be a boat dog after all. If we could only teach him how to filet fish.

Good times aboard the Goose on a fathers and sons trip to the islands! 16 yellows and assorted other fish. Some fun battles with sea lions and memories that will last a lifetime. That’s what this is all about. Take your kid fishing!

We found the daddy paddy! Bottom of the ninth the horizon turned orange yellow but the sun wasn’t close to setting it was the daddy paddy! Dorado and Yellowtail. It was a fun weekend of fishing with some bluefin and yellowtail on order yesterday!

Who wants yellowtail when you can catch limits of 200lb+ molas and nice reds! Stuck it out close to home and made the best of it. Thanks for fishing with us.

Just some of the beautiful grade yellows the McNatt family caught at the islands yesterday. 14 in total were landed. Some of the best islands fishing in recent memory going on right now. Yellowtail are the prize with some bonito showing up, calico bass, lots of big barracuda and even a Radom bluefin tuna showing up. The islands are the place to be. If you have passports and want to be a part of this amazing stretch of fishing hit us up. It won’t last forever. No better time than now!

Feeling fortunate to land a nice dorado and a couple yellows. We searched far and wide and came across some nice paddies most of which were dry. Every day is different. Looking forward to getting back out there.
