They are BACK! The orcas are back in San Diego waters & we were lucky enough to see them on both of our trips! Such a rare treat for our guests! The orcas surprised me by surfacing right behind me & started surfing in our wake!

Fun, fun, fun!!!! Playing with high flying bottle nose dolphins! There were quite a few babies in this pod of dolphins and we were able to photograph one as it came up next to our boat. What a great weekend we had! The ocean was full of life; blue whales (a mom & her calf), mola molas, and Risso's dolphins (about 100+). The blue whales were putting on a show again today! We saw a total of 5 on our morning trip along with some very active common dolphins!
We don't know how long these beautiful whales will stay in the area, so hop on board with us !

Pure glassy conditions made for some spectacular whale watching this morning! 7 blue whales, including a cow/calf pair. The calf was so small, about 15 feet long, it had to be a newbie! Mother was quite shy, so we kept our distance and didn't get any photos of the calf. But we did get great photos of some of the other whales. Also on the menu was a huge mola mola, some common dolphins and some Risso's dolphins. Oh yeah, and some whale p**p!

Saw this very odd looking jellyfish while out Whale Watching this morning. Was unable to identify it, so if any of my naturalist friends could help me out, I would be very grateful!

Looked like 4 swimming in tandem. Maybe a foot long each.

Beautiful conditions for whale watching this morning. We found 2 blue whales & 2 fin whales hanging out together along with some very lively common dolphins. One of the fin whales had a very odd looking dorsal fin, almost looked like it had been bitten.
Lots of flukes and very accommodating whales.

Fin whales were out there today in pretty good numbers. Reports up and down the coast of these whales, the second largest of the whales. These two were very accommodating allowing us some nice looks both on our morning and afternoon trips. www.offshoreblueadventures.com

Had an awesome two Whale Watching trips yesterday. Our morning trip took us far offshore where we encountered two fast moving fin whales and several pods of common dolphins. The fins whales were living up to their nick name "greyhound of the ocean" and due to sea conditions we soon lost them. We headed back closer to shore where reports of dolphins and bait were coming over the radio. Then a call went out that two fin whales had arrived to feed on the bait fish. We were able to catch up to them and watch as they circled and surface fed.

We headed back to that same spot and the two whales were still feeding on the bait fish. They were curious and mugged us and the other boats there several times, twice passing under our boat, and surfacing quite near by! (PS. All of the boats were sitting still in neutral while this was happening).
