Costa Rica - The Sea Turtle Initiative (our most popular trip for a reason…)

Embarking on this incredible family trip to Costa Rica holds a profound significance.

Over the past 35 years, Costa Rica's sea turtle population has faced a staggering 90% decline, grappling with the daunting challenges of climate change, heightened boat traffic, predatory threats on the beaches, and the mounting presence of litter in their fragile habitats.

Your participation in this adventure with Discover Corps serves a vital purpose. Together, you'll engage in activities such as carefully excavating hatched nests to assess hatching success rates. Depending on the season, your family will have the extraordinary opportunity to search for nesting female turtles, collect their precious eggs, and relocate them to a safe hatchery.
