A gift shop with a unique twist!

Go to the Cave Store in La Jolla, CA and ask for a ticket to go down into the cave.

Tours are approximately 15-20 minutes long and self-guided. Come prepared to both descend and climb the original 144 stairs (roughly a five-minute ascent at a gentle pace).

The tunnel was commissioned by German artist, mining engineer, and entrepreneur Gustav Schultz in 1902. It's been said that during Prohibition, bootleggers smuggled alcohol and o***m into San Diego through the sea cave by carrying it through this tunnel!

Sunset Cliffs Natural Park is hands down the best place to take a sunset walk (or picnic) in San Diego.

The park features walking paths with amazing natural cliffs with views of the ocean, surfers, and wild life.

There are dirt lots located at Ladera St, San Diego, CA 92107. Park in one of the lots and explore the trails nearby. Make sure to get there about 1 hour before sunset on the weekend as the lots tend to fill.
