Wave FC Pride Night: San Diego Wave FC is hosting its Pride Night tonight. Those who purchase a special $35 ticket get a limited edition Pride belt bag. Also, $5 from these ticket sales will be donated to San Diego Pride. The game will also serve as a send-off for players who will compete in the Olympics. 7 p.m. tonight. Summer Nights at the Comic-Con Museum: On Fridays leading up to Comic-Con (except July 5), the Comic-Con Museum will be open late for its new Summer Nights event series. Each Friday evening will feature a different theme, with this Friday focusing on competitive puzzle building. San Diego County summer movies: San Diego County’s series of more than 100 summer movie screenings is underway and continues this weekend with showings Friday of “Trolls Band Together” at Waterfront Park; “Finding Nemo” at Nobel Recreation Center; and “Migration” at Veterans Park. On Saturday, “Migration” will play at Poway Community Park; “Trolls Band Together” will be showing at Otay Lakes County Park and “E.T. the Extra-Terestrial” will be shown at University City Village. The movies start 15 minutes after sunset on each day. Movies continue on Friday and Saturday evenings through Nov. 1. American Library Association Annual Conference: The San Diego Convention Center will play host to this massive event featuring educational programs and exhibits and exploring issues such as artificial intelligence and intellectual freedom. Also featured at the annual conference will be guest speakers Trevor Noah and Taraji P. Henson. Attendees can purchase tickets for a single day, exhibit-only access or for multiple days. In conjunction with the event, locals can watch performances of stories and plays from creators at Father Joe’s Villages hosted at the Central Library’s Neil Morgan Auditorium today at 2 p.m. Conference runs today through July 2. California Wine Festival: The California Wine Festival is back June 28-29 with alfresco tasting events. Attendees can try pours from winemaking regions across California, paired with gourmet appetizers from a number of North County’s top restaurants. Highlights include lifestyle exhibitors and live entertainment. Proceeds from the auction benefit Golden Rule Charity, which helps people in the hospitality industry. The two-day event includes a Beachside Wine Festival at the resort’s Heron Lawn. Attendees can enjoy tastings and chat with winery representatives and culinary experts. The VIP Pavilion will feature a selection of reserve-level wines and craft brews along with special seating next to the resort’s golf course overlooking the Batiquitos Lagoon nature preserve. Double feature lectures at MiraCosta College: MiraCosta College’s Learning is for Everyone (LIFE) group presents two free lectures. At 1 p.m., “The Doolittle Raid — America’s Daring First Strike Against Japan” will be presented by retired Navy Capt. Rafe Arnott, a USS Midway docent. At 2:30 p.m., a presentation on “Spring Flowers” will be given by Barbara Weiler, Master Flower Show judge. Weiler will discuss the National Flower Shows structure and what it’s like to be a judge. ‘A Day at the Park’ celebration: The Port of San Diego will put on “A Day at the Park” family-friendly multicultural celebration. The celebration will feature performances by local artists and musicians, activities for kids of all ages and food vendors. Bring picnic blankets and low lawn chairs. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Black Arts and Culture Music Festival: The San Diego African American Museum of Fine Art holds its San Diego Black Arts + Culture Music Festival from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 29 in Martin L. King Jr. Park, 6401 Skyline Drive. The festival will feature a lineup of renowned San Diego musicians assembled by festival artistic director, Grammy-winning record producer, performer and UC San Diego music professor Kamau Kenyatta. North Park Mini Book Fair: Ahead of its main book fair in October, Verbatim Books will host a mini version of the event for the first time this weekend. Book lovers are invited to explore a curated selection of books from multiple sellers, such as Libelula Books, Book Barn Galore, North Park Historical Society and Stay Strange Publishing. There will be food, music and other activities and dogs and kids are welcome. Chili cook-off: The Lemon Grove Lions Club and Lemon Grove Forward Club, which are volunteer groups that serve the community, will host a chili cookoff featuring a chili-tasting contest where attendees can help pick the “best chili in Lemon Grove.” There will be music, a cash bar, a raffle and a silent auction. 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Oceanside Independence Parade: Downtown Oceanside will be a sea of red, white and blue this weekend as its annual Independence Day parade rides through town. It features unique cars, bands, floats and various local groups and performers. Mole workshop at Cafeina Cafe: Chef Lety of Brujas Cocina is hosting a mole workshop at Cafeina Cafe. Ticketed guests will learn how to make mole poblano estilo Guanajuato, a municipality in central Mexico, including the main ingredients, the history, variations of mole poblano, types of dried chiles and how to pair with food and drinks. Sweetwater Marsh hike: An organized hike will explore the Sweetwater Marsh Trail on the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Participants will learn about the history of the Sweetwater Marsh, the salt marsh ecosystem and the plants and wildlife in the protected space. Backpacks with activities, including magnifying glasses and binoculars, will be available for families to use while on the hike. 11:30 a.m. to noon June 29. Art Night in Encinitas: The city of Encinitas’ Art Night will include Encinitas civic and local art galleries opening their doors to celebrate the city’s diverse visual arts.
