A couple days ago came to town and hooked a bounty of yellow and we had incredible tank of sardine from . Nothing to waste as our costal sardine is one of the most flavorful fish swimming in our zone. Looking good brother.
We can’t think of anything better than watching a yellowtail blow up on a surface lure. These are the days we hold close to our memory banks.

Always tough being on the side lines after we try to prepare for a season and have all moving parts in top shape for when it time to work. This young man has been fishing with us since he was about 10 years old. Learning and soaking up everything he could is paying off as he out fishes his teachers. We spend large amount of hours in the gyros daily and when 10 detailed fingers pop up a mile or so we change the course of the vessel. We were in recovery mode until we got right on top of this training dummy for the military. Always an adventure.

Well most of you saw our post from two day ago as I explained our heartbreak of loosing our fish on the final turn. Owner and customer Todd of ‘Bad Habit’ had me out for an extra day today as yesterday we just didn’t see much. I had the day open and wanted to try and get our hook back. We came tight and 4 hours later and a lost gaff we stuck this cow for the boys from Texas. Talk about a soul moment as we accomplished our mission and headed back to the great state of Texas with some red meat. Thank you Todd for everything and can’t wait for the next one. Headed home with an ass kicking but a W in the win column. We fought this tanker for the better part of 2 hours before three sealions climbed on us. The guys were already broken before we had to turn it up a notch at the end. It’s not an easy thing to teach new group to trophy fish on their first trip but did an amazing job. Well after the last couple weeks tied up doing daddy things as watching my first born graduating from 8th grade and moving on to high school and my 4th grader moving into 5th grade. These are the moments we just can’t miss. That being said it’s time to untie the boat and put our heads down. Seems it’s been a little slower start to the season as seasons past but sure the light switch will be turned on any day now. We are looking forward to getting to it this week and seeing everyone that is on the calendar this summer. If you are interested in trips give us a shout. One of our residence that loves the hunt and early season trips to get out and get himself and his tackle in order for the season. He was on fire yesterday with a limit of good ones paired with some amazing weather. We kept bouncing back and forth from the deep water stone program yesterday checking on conditions for game fish throughout the day but just never found a school of yellowtail. It’s always nice when a plan works out for us to take a customer on his new vessel and teach him a few tricks of the trade to get him started. As we say this BIG fish is not easy on our own vessel much less working though everything new on someone’s platform. That being said this beautiful fish got released on the next circle. Made a direction change into the running gear. The owner was ok with it but as a fisherman I might not sleep as good tonight if it went home with us. We always like to share the good and bad but today was all good… A cow released to swim another day. After a slow day fishing yesterday we ended up smoking the port lower unit backing into the slip. I wanted to apologize to our OPEN PARTY group today for having to cancel on you in the 11th hour. We take pride in having the operation working at 110% but some things just happen. So thanks guys for understanding. For Sale: Furuno @furuno_usa CH270 ‘Search Light Sonar’. This sonar is about 6 years old and not a lot of hours on it. The dome was totally rebuilt last season from the good people of Furuno with new tilt motor and a few other things while it was on their bench. Nothing wrong just upgrading to a new system.
