Oops! That's pitiful...
I was going to say Shame on you Uber. But on second thought she cant be mad, she knew that the usual fare to her house was $65 so she should not be surprised that 65 x 6.5 was over $400. It sucks but she said herself that they could not get a cab or an UberX or Uber Black so clearly the drivers were all booked up when you select Uber SUV you know you are burning cash. So you can wait for a cab that will never come, walk, wait for surge pricing to end (could be hours) or pay that ridiculous price to get home because it beats sleeping on the streets.

Hey heres an idea take that $400 and get yourself a nice room somewhere...

Audi Awarded First Autonomous Driving Permit In The State of California

Wow Audi is really pushing forward with there driver-less car tech. Watch out drivers Audi wants to put us out of a job!!

Interesting... This is very interesting advanced technology although perhaps a little threatening to those in the transportation industry. Google is said to be working on a car with no steering wheel that they hope to bring to market in small quantities by 2017 while Elon Musk of Tesla hopes to bring an autonomous electric vehicle to market by 2016. Major auto manufacturers are giving more conservative release dates in 2020

Limo and Town Car Drivers / Companies a simple but effective tip for you:
Be sure to update your Facebook profile and add your location information! Remember you may only do business in your city or state but Facebook is global!!
When a potential customer finds you through Facebook you need to make sure that customer knows that you are local and can help them with their transportation needs...
Don't assume the only people looking at your page are near you. Business travelers (myself included) frequently travel outside their home town and some (the more savvy business travelers) take advantage of social media like Facebook, Yelp and Foursquare to find the best deal on luxury transportation with recommendations from friends but you are missing that business if they don't know where you are located!!

Although it's not known whether they're all functionally identical, some look more like a Cadillac DTS than The Beast. The other limousines are used for high-ranking foreign officials and VIP guests when they're in Washington, D.C. It isn't known why the Secret Service rotates between presidential vehicles, however.

At the very least, The Beast has three passengers aboard – the driver, the president's lead Secret Service protective agent in the front passenger seat and, of course, the president himself. However, four additional seats in the back are available – three rearward facing spots on a bench and one spot next to the president for a guest. A folding desk separates the president from his guest's spot.
Somewhat surprisingly, the president's bench is covered in a dark blue cloth rather than leather (although plenty of hide is on board). Shoulder belts that retract toward the center of the bench and buckle into the outboard corners – the reverse of a normal rear seat - are included.
