Mongolian Contortion Center We provide different levels of stretching, conditioning, strengthening and balancing classes based o We welcome any level and age of people to come and train.

We provide different levels of stretching, conditioning, strengthening and balancing classes based on traditional Mongolian contortion techniques. We have been working with people with no experience in flexibility training to professional circus performers, yoga teachers, gymnasts, free runners, professional, olympic swimmers, ice skaters, athletes and dancers. Training flexibility has no age or l

evel limits. We improved people's flexibility to a new standards. Our programs, set people with their current flexibility and place them in a training that is based on their areas where they need to improve. Flexibility is the core exercise to improve and keep your body healthy and strong and it helps to eliminate common muscle problems including shoulder and neck pain and lower backache. We offer professional contortion program twice a year in San Francisco, CA and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Congratulations to all my students and friends who participated in the Dream show.
I want to express my gratitude to all the people who helped make this event possible.

Shana Torok is an actor, clown, yoga teacher, illustrator, playwright, and art director. Shana
began the practice of Mongolian contortion at age 46, when she met Serchmaa Byamba in
Los Angeles for a one-day workshop. She lives in Portland, and she is a Tempos
Contemporary Circus Company member.

Introducing Sophia Chen who will be joining us for the cast of DREAM!

Sophia started contortion as an adult and has been training with Serchmaa for 1 year now. She has performed contortion and fire contortion in Chicago and New York, and this is her first time performing with Serchmaa in San Francisco. She adores Serchmaa and the great community she has fostered, and therefore she is very excited to be part of the DREAM show! Outside of contortion, Sophia works full time as a software engineer and lives in Chicago.

Introducing Abigail Anderson who will be joining us for the cast of DREAM!

Abigail Anderson began training in Mongolian contortion in April 2022, blending her decade of competitive cheerleading experience with her love for dance, ballet, and the circus arts. She has traveled to Mongolia over the past two years, falling in love with the artistry and the physical and mental discipline that contortion demands. Abigail also enjoys spending time with her horse, Glitter, as they train in mounted archery, vaulting, and work toward her ultimate goal of performing foot archery in a handstand on a moving horse. Outside the circus ring, Abigail is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice, completing her doctorate in social work while balancing teaching and research.

Sadie Orozco is a contortionist who trained at the prestigious Mongolian Contortion Center with Serchmaa Byamba. Beginning her training at the age of eight, she has honed her craft over the years. Introducing Ariadna Ignatenko .ignatenko who will be joining us for the cast of DREAM!

Ariadna is a Miami-based contortionist, acrobat, yoga therapist, and handstand teacher. She began her flexibility journey at the age of 4 when she first joined gymnastics, followed by 5 years of ballet and two years of martial arts training. At the age of 18, she discovered yoga and started teaching shortly after. Her yoga journey led her to explore the world of handstands and contortion, which she fell in love with. Ariadna is committed to her personal and professional development and is excited to share her passion with you at the Dream Show.

Introducing Annie Thorkildsen who will be joining us for the cast of DREAM!

Annie is a Norwegian artist that has a dance and pedagogy education. She fell in love with circus arts when she attended the Dance school in NYC. She started training contortion as a grown up and it became the “love of her life”. She loves performing and mesmerizing the audience through her different acts. Back home she teaches flexibility, ballet and yoga. She is very grateful to learn Mongolian Contortion with Serchmaa and excited to be part of the DREAM show!

Erdenechimeg has over 50 years of experience as a contortion artist and coach, and has performed with circuses including the Great Moscow Circus, the Bolshoi Circus, and Roncalli in Germany. Introducing Michelle Chang who will be joining us for the cast of DREAM!

Michelle is a Bay-Area-bred performer and multi-instrumentalist who discovered Mongolian contortion during the pandemic. With its combination of athleticism and artistry, the circus arts has offered a natural avenue in which to combine her varied background in artistic gymnastics, dance, pole, and wushu. While currently based in Seattle, circumstances have conspired to land her back in the Bay for a spell. Michelle is so excited to share the art of contortion with the wider public, and to be performing again with old colleagues and new. When not contorting herself, she can be found working on biohybrid systems for sustainability and banging away on the piano.

Introducing Christine Choi .christ1nee ✨ who will be joining us for the cast of DREAM!

Christine Choi is currently a senior at Alameda High School and will be attending Harvard in the fall. With a diverse background in dance and contortion, she began training in classical and contemporary ballet at age 12, focusing on Vaganova Method and Horton and Graham techniques. At age 16, she joined the Mongolian Contortion Center and began training contortion. Last year, Christine was also in her high school’s Dance Program. Christine is honored to learn under Serchmaa Byamba and thrilled to perform in the show!
