Paro to Laya Trek with our traditional flute music. Looking forward to being back.
Bhutan sounds - Our guests on last Bhutan trip recorded the pleasant sounds for us to treasure. This one was on the hike to Gantey Gonpa.

Monks chanting
There are many precious surprise elements we add to our trips. We don't make it public until folks are ready to come here ;-). Here is a snippet from one of the surpises recorded with permission. This video brings back many sweet memories and smiles. Bubble gum anyone?
Prayer wheels
The sweet sound of turning a prayer wheel - the memories of this particular magical day are still very fresh on our minds. We had trekked up the following day to Bumdra camp site in rain but our spirits were not dampened. We were still in awe with the beauty around us. The next day we started our journey down hill towards Tiger's nest. The normal path to Tiger's nest is uphill. We got up early and started our day by visiting a temple that was close by. The temple keeper wasn't there. But our guests still had an adventure. There were more temples to visit on the way to the Tiger's nest. And this prayer wheel was outside a very old temple. We loved the sound of prayer wheel bells. Getting to Tiger's nest and the hike to our van will be shared another time.

Mebar Tsho - Burning lake
The river you are looking at flows into Mebar Tsho. The Burning Lake, Mebar Tsho is located along the way to the Tang village over the feeder road under Bumthang valley. It takes approximately thirty minutes’ drive to the Mebar Tsho from Chamkhar town.
Mebar Tsho is considered one of the most sacred sites in the region as it is related to the renowned religious treasurer (Terton) Terton Pema Lingpa. Pema Lingpa is considered an incarnated disciple of Padmasambhava who discovered treasure within the lake in late 15th century.
Today, this small fresh water lake is a sacred pilgrimage site for the Bhutanese with bright multicolored prayer flags surrounding it and a small altar dedicated to Terton Pema Lingpa has also been set up. On auspicious days people offer butter lamps at the lake. Many tourists visit the site to observe spectacular beauty of this important historical and religious site.
Water turned prayer wheels - Bells in nature.
Prayers wheels turned by water. Kudos to Karthik Sainath Kamal Shah for capturing the sounds of Bhutan. This was captured on our hike in Tang valley (Bumthang). Our senses feel alive in Bhutan. The sight and sound of a prayer wheel turned by water is so pleasant, so welcome and oh so Bhutan. Memories to last us for a life time. We are still reminsicing our beautiful and adventure filled Sept 2019 trip.

Sharing more pics from the April 2019 Bhutan trip. Feeling very grateful to be from a country that is spectacularly beautiful and where our guests experience so much magic. One of our guests and I were talking about how this culture practices devotion in action and you have to experience these by being here. Compassion, kindness, generosity.....seen in the interactions between people. We have two trips scheduled in Sept and both groups are filling up great people.
