Delighted to share a new work by Martin Bialas up at DZINE
"Hommage to a Mentor" is a cast bronze composition using the archetypal tools of a painter: the paintbrush.

In this work the sculptor Martin Bialas pays tribute to his early mentor the painter Eduard Micus, the Brücke and pre-war avant-garde, whose roots go back the very heart of the most innovative of art schools, the Bauhaus (1919-1933). with teachers of the likes of Paul Klee, Kandinsky, Schwitters, Walter Gropius, Mies van der Rohe, Marcel Breuer .

The composition evokes a line of thought, a connecting line in art history as well as on a more personal level, a homage to the artists that sparked off Martin Bialas' career as an artist.
