Yay for Ranger Cynthia!
If you’ve entered the park from Joshua Tree in the last 27 years, you’ll probably recognize this park ranger!
Allow us to introduce Ranger Cynthia, a dedicated park ranger in Fees at Joshua Tree National Park. Ranger Cynthia, originally from Pennsylvania, moved out here to be close to family. However, she fell in love with the desert and being a park ranger. Her passion for serving visitors and the park service has kept her at the park for over 27 years!
When asked what she enjoys about being a park ranger, her face lights up as she mentions how she loves welcoming visitors and helping them have the best experience in the park. Although Ranger Cynthia is looking forward to retiring next year, she plans to continue sharing her love and experience with the park even after leaving the booth!👏
Today is World Ranger Day, an internationally recognized day to celebrate the work rangers do to protect the planet’s natural treasures and cultural heritage. We want to express our gratitude to all park rangers who work to protect and preserve parks worldwide.
If you see a park ranger today, wish them a "Happy World Ranger Day"!🫶
