The mission of the Catalino Tapia Scholarship Foundation is to break down barriers to higher education by offering scholarships, mentorship, workshops, and resources that enable students to pursue their academic and career goals to students in San Francisco, Alameda, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties. Through their commitment to equity and access, they aim to empower students to succeed academically, personally, and professionally, fostering a more inclusive and prosperous society for all.

Since the organization was originally founded, it has awarded over $770,000 in scholarships and has helped over 383 students receive financial assistance to help them pursue their college careers. We invite you to support extraordinary students reaching their dreams!

This Small Business Saturday, we’re excited to spotlight the transformative work of Prosperity Lab, a driving force behind economic empowerment and development for underserved communities and microbusinesses in Silicon Valley and the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Through innovative programs and solutions, Prosperity Lab is making a lasting impact on those often overlooked, creating pathways to prosperity.

The Prosperity Lab path finds economic empowerment approaches and tools that enable historically disinvested communities, women, and micro – enterprises to become prosperous, reduce socioeconomic disparities and achieve economic advancement. Catholic Charities is one of the largest, most comprehensive human services agencies in Northern California serving more than 70,000 people in San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin Counties annually. Young has over 25 years of experience in graphic design and art direction in the non-profit sector throughout the US and overseas. She is passionate about providing art workshops for therapeutic purposes for various groups locally and globally. During her 20+ years of volunteering in the arts community within the Skid Row neighborhood of Los Angeles and for marginalized communities on several continents, she has witnessed many participants experience hope, self-confidence, and joy through arts activities, which inspires her to do more, and as often as she can!

Welcome Giuliana Velasquez Rosas, Communications and Video Coordinator at Voler!

Giuliana Velasquez Rosas brings a wealth of creative expertise to the team. Originally from Peru, she has honed her skills over seven years in video editing and content creation, working with diverse clients both domestically and internationally. Her BA in Audiovisual Communications and New Media from the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences provides a strong foundation for her work. Fluent in Spanish and English, Giuliana is passionate about connecting with audiences across cultures.

Before joining Voler, Giuliana worked as a freelance videographer and editor, collaborating with teams across different industries. She has always been eager to learn and adapt, using her skills in video production and video editing to help clients share their stories in creative and meaningful ways.

At Voler, Giuliana is excited to continue growing as part of a talented team, focusing on delivering high-quality content that aligns with the company's vision and helps build lasting connections with the stakeholders.

Meet Luisa Olivares, Communications Associate / Intern for Voler Strategic Advisors! As a bilingual Communications Associate / Intern, Luisa supports the team in crafting social media posts, conducting client research, and shadowing senior staff to gain hands-on experience. She brings a fresh perspective and a strong commitment to helping clients amplify their voices and achieve their strategic goals.

Luisa holds a BA in Communications from the University of California, Santa Barbara. With a passion for public relations and an aspiration to excel in marketing, she brings creativity and strategic thinking to the Voler team.

Despite being new to the professional world, Luisa held a previous internship role at a public relations and marketing company in Santa Barbara. There, she actively created media lists, sent out award nominations for clients, and contacted numerous publications, TV stations, and radio stations. She has also worked for an event planning company, where she learned project coordination skills.

Luisa is eager to learn more about Voler’s organization operations and contribute to client projects.
