Ranger Led Interpretive Hike
11/22/23 - 10:00 a.m.

Come hike the Bob Jones Pathway with us and hear about the fascinating natural and human history of San Luis Creek and the Avila Valley.

The hike usually lasts 90 minutes and covers about 1 mile. Meet at the Ontario Road trailhead parking lot near the restroom building. Wear comfortable shoes, appropriate clothing for the weather, and bring water.

Please note, in the event of rain, the hike will be canceled.

For more information about the hike, email Ranger Manny Silva at [email protected] or call him at 805-781-4900.

We hope to see you there!

Yes that’s right, the Nipomo Skate Park is finally open! It’s flow bowl, deep bowl, quarter pipes, steps, grind ledges and level skate plaza are waiting for you to come and ride them. You waited over five years for this park to come to life and it’s been nearly a year since construction began on the $3.5 million project.

“We are excited to finally be able to open this long-awaited skate park for all to enjoy and we thank all the skaters for their help and patience as we worked through the process to bring this to the community,” said Nick Franco, County Parks Director.

We will have a grand opening celebration on Saturday, May 6, at 10am. at the skate park.  Skaters who wish to donate to the art pole are encouraged to bring a broken skateboard to the grand opening.  I will email additional details as they become available, but in the meantime enjoy your new skatepark! The park is open every day from 7 a.m. until dusk.
