Steve Weiss AIDS Living Memorial Grove

The Grove is a place for grief, for remembrance, for hope and for renewal. It is a place to stroll, to meditate or to gather for a memorial service.

The Grove, located in El Chorro Regional Park, provides a beautiful living memorial in remembrance of the men, women and children who have died from AIDS and in support of those who live each day with HIV/AIDS. The Grove honors both the people whose lives have been cut short by the illness and the people whose lives have been forever altered by sharing their love and support of those with the illn

ess. The Grove provides a learning tool for adults and children, provoking discussion on AIDS, awareness, loss and the power of community. Created with native plants and trees, gardeners are also encouraged to learn more about California plant life. The Grove, as life itself, grows and changes with the cycles of nature; planting and maintaining the Grove provides a healing experience.

We always have volunteer opportunities at the Grove, and hold Grove Work Days once a month. If you would like to volunteer, call Chloe at 805-781-3660. The Grove is free to visit, and always open to the public. We hope to see you there!

The Access Support Network is celebrating its 40th year serving San Luis Obispo County. I am excited to share our new website, www.asn.org. The new website seeks to help people navigate and find our services in the three counties we now serve: San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and northern Santa Barbara Counties.

The Access Support Network is a community based nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide support to our neighbors and loved ones living with HIV or Hep C. We strive to improve the independence of our clients through individualized services.
