Celebrate Veterans Day Weekend in San Marcos, Texas, with events honoring those who served our nation. Start your weekend with the annual Veterans Day Parade at 9am, hosted by SMTX Parks and Recreation. Aviation enthusiasts won’t want to miss the Wings and Warriors Fly-In, starting at 10am at the San Marcos Regional Airport. And, of course, finish Saturday off with the San Marcos Hangar Dinner Dance at the Commemorative Air Force Central Texas Wing, where guests are invited to swing dance to ’40s big band music among restored WWII planes.

San Marcos has long been a hub for live music, with Cheatham Street Warehouse at the heart of it all. This iconic venue has launched the careers of countless musicians, including George Strait. As it celebrates 50 years (10/20), Cheatham Street remains a cornerstone of the community, where the sounds of tomorrow’s legends still fill the air. But the legacy doesn’t stop there. San Marcos is also home to jazz legend Eddie Durham, whose contributions to swing and bebop are celebrated annually at the Eddie Durham Jazz Festival (10/19).
