American Airlines pulling a Bait & Switch with Basic Economy No-Perk Fares!
Basic economy has spread among major U.S. airlines, luring consumers with the cheapest price … in exchange for a bunch of restrictions. But now, AA is taking it a step further:

AA has begun hiding these bare-bones fares under the cover of a regular “Main” cabin ticket in its search results online at AA.com and on its smartphone app.
So while you'll initially see a $337 price tag on a roundtrip flight for instance from Phoenix to Dallas - explicitly labeled as a main cabin ticket - click through and then you'll see that's for a basic economy fare – that better main cabin fare actually costs another $60 more:(

And it's the new norm across AA's entire network, for a domestic AA flight, but also abroad – including partner airlines like British Airways and others...

Turkey Removes Visa Requirement for Americans!

Americans traveling to Turkey are no longer required to obtain a visa for visits up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
Until December 31, 2023, Americans (and Canadians) needed to apply in advance for an E-Visa, purchasable online for $51.50. Turkey now joins every country in Western Europe as being visa-free.

Brazil has officially launched the platform through which U.S., Canadian and Australian citizens can obtain their e-Visa to enter Brazil: https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/
Travelers from these countries will need the visa to enter Brazil by air starting January 10, 2024.
The electronic visa will allow multiple entries and is valid 10 years (5 years each for Canadians and Australians).
Travelers will have to input their personal information and flight confirmation and pay US$80 to secure the visa—all online.
Once approved, a PDF file containing your eVisa will be emailed to you. Download/print this eVisa for presentation during boarding and upon landing in Brazil.
Tip: The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends keeping a copy of the eVisa file on your cellphone.
It also recommends registering for a visa if you’re traveling within a few days prior to January 10 in the event that your flight or other travels are delayed.

TRAVEL SAFETY!!
Keep your cell phone safe when traveling! There's a lot we have to worry about when traveling and now the FCC and FBI are warning us of one more: juice jacking.

Juice jacking is when "bad actors" are able to load malware onto public USB charging stations – like in the airport! – that then gets automatically downloaded onto your phone when you plug in via a USB cable to charge. This malware can lock your device or export personal data and passwords, leaving you totally compromised.

Here are some tips to help you avoid becoming a juice jacking victim:
- Avoid using a public USB charging station. Use an AC power outlet instead.
- Bring AC, car chargers, and your own USB cables with you when traveling.
- Carry a portable charger or external battery.
- Consider carrying a charging-only cable, which prevents data from sending or receiving while charging, from a trusted supplier.
- If you plug your device into a USB port and a prompt appears asking you to select "share data" or “charge only,” always select “charge only.”

U.S. to End COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement for International inbound Travelers next week.
The White House on Monday announced that the policy would officially end on May 11 on the same day that the COVID-19 public health emergency ends.
The requirement was the last major COVID-19-era travel requirement on the books—the U.S. had rolled back other requirements, including the inbound testing requirement, last year, but had kept its vaccination requirement in place.
The requirement had been in place since 2021.

Planned for January 2024 is the new - and world's largest - ship from Royal Caribbean: Icon of the Seas.
At double occupancy, Icon will carry 5,610 passengers (7,600 max) in 2,805 cabins, all supported by 2,350 crew members. Its significant width will accommodate another open-air Central Park, complete with 20% more trees, and an alfresco courtyard at the stern.
