In French Polynesia, thousands of camouflage groupers, also known as marbled groupers, spawn in the Fakarava atoll every year between June and July. The spawning takes place in the Fakarava South Pass (Tetamanu Pass), a 35-mile-long rectangle of coral in a narrow channel at the south end of Fakarava Atoll.

In 2025, we’re lucky to witness the groupers’ spawning twice in June AND in July since there will be consecutive full moons.

We are holding 2 rooms in South Fakarava July 5-11 2024 for 6nts, with 4 days of diving with the Groupers. These trips sell out way in advance. The Sardine Run Experience is done on snorkel; only when we find a static baitball do we get in the water with scuba. Seeing an iconic sardine baitball in crystal-clear conditions with dolphins, sharks, whales and sea birds in a feeding frenzy is, in fact, quite exciting!

Finally after 3+ long years…… I am on my way to my beloved Africa!!! Attending We Are Africa trade show in Cape Town, the Mother City !! Visiting dear friends in Kwazulu natal! Then a fantastic agent FAM with other agents hosted by Green Safaris to visit their camps in Victoria Falls, Zambia & Malawi!! I am over the moon !! On a new adventure! Invited on an agent FAM to Guyana South America !
10 days with others, visiting Coastal city Georgetown; then about 8 days deep into the interior!

Looking forward to a very pristine eco environment! Wildlife, birding, eco lodges and local people!

Very few visitors a year ! Looking to help bring likeminded adventurers!

One of the few countries in South America where wildlife is fully intact !

Met a friend here in JFK for dinner at the TWA lounge and restaurant!! All done in 60s including the music ! Way cool !!!

No room to pack my Indiana Jane hat !!!
