Thank you all for helping us raise over $23,000 to close out December. I am pleased to share that, even though we did not raise the full matching funds, Dean and Cathy Lemman are going to donate the full $50,000!

That means that together, we have raised over ✨$425,000✨ for Camp Namanu in just 2 short months!

While we still have more work to do in the new year, we feel deep gratitude for the support and investment our community has shown us during this challenging time.

We can do hard things, especially when we work together.

We have some exciting news to share! We are offering Spring Break Family Camp and Day Camp AND Registration opens tomorrow - Saturday, 12/21 at 9:00am!

SPRING FAMILY CAMP 3/21-3/23:
Join us at Camp Namanu for a weekend full of activities, memories, and friends! Turn your weekend into a slumber party with your best friends and their families! You can enjoy opportunities to do activities as a family and as adults and kids separately. A great way to connect with other camp families!

SPRING BREAK DAY CAMP 3/24-3/28:
It doesn't have to be summer for you to get pumped for camp! This weeklong camp is full of everyone's favorite camp crafts, group games, and exploring the beauty of Camp Namanu.

We are thrilled to announce a matching donation opportunity! All donations made by December 20th, 2024 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by The Standard, up to $50,000.

The Standard has been a longtime supporter of Camp Fire Columbia and Camp Namanu, sponsoring many of our past fundraising events. The camp has been in Sandy for 100 years, but the interim director said they need to raise a million dollars to keep it open.

Even in this season of uncertainty, we are continuing to plan for Summer 2025. We are only taking the $50 deposit at this time to secure spots. Payment plans will begin in January for the remainder of the fees if we are able to execute on our vision and meet our fundraising goals this winter.

We have a deep sense of hope and belief that we will successfully raise the funds we need and that we will be together in Summer 2025 to continue the mission and magic of camp. We encourage everyone interested in registering in camp to continue to do so, as it’s one of the best ways to support Camp Namanu. It helps us demonstrate a clear sense of interest and commitment that will help with our fundraising efforts.

It is incredibly hard to share this message. Especially at a time when there are many worthy causes looking for funding and support, but Camp Namanu is in trouble.

For over 100 years, Camp Namanu has been a place of adventure, inspiration, and community for youth across Oregon. But today, we need your help to preserve this beloved sanctuary for future generations.

Due to rapidly rising costs, supply chain and labor challenges, and a sharp decline in funding, Camp Fire Columbia and Camp Namanu face significant financial pressures. To meet these challenges, we have adjusted our operations, reduced costs, and formed new partnerships.

But without additional support, our cash reserves will be depleted by the end of 2024, and we risk losing a vital part of Oregon’s outdoor heritage.
