City of Sanford
If you find yourself traveling through the heart of our state, you’ll come across one of the most charming, vibrant and delightfully unexpected places in North Carolina. At its core is a thriving small city where nearly a century and a half ago only two railroads crossed.
It’s a place where progressive leaders have fought hard to shape a community with a vision for the future while honoring its past. A place where you can escape drama and enjoy a peaceful weekend drive.
There’s a conviction that the arts are food for the soul and should occasionally be paired with a nice red wine or pale ale.
If you want to push yourself hard, or not at all — we have what you’re looking for. With recreation opportunities in abundance, from golf and mountain biking, to baseball and kayaking.
When you visit, residents will greet you with a smile, take time to share a story or point you to nearby undiscovered gems. It’s a city on the rise with big ideas and even bigger dreams — but the heart and soul of a small town.
Welcome to a little undiscovered slice of heaven just around the corner.
