Thank you to everyone reaching out about the status of our beloved B5 Pointe Santo. We just received wonderful news that there was no water intrusion into any of the ground floor units, from Hurricane Milton! Praise God!

Lots of flooding on the island. Many streets are impassable. The parking lot at Pointe Santo is completely flooded. No power on the island. THE CAUSEWAY SURVIVED! 🥳🥳

So many things to be grateful for! Thank you for your concern. We know this is your home away from home, as much as it is ours. We hope to have you all back to your happy place as soon as we can!

We have drywall! We have drywall!! Oh the little things in life! What a blessing to have actual walls!

We plan on welcoming guests back to our BRAND NEW B5 POINTE SANTO in 2025. We have availability from April 2025 on. Please note that since that timeframe is quite a bit away, we do not know if the pool or clubhouse will be functional. We only know that the completion date for those are in “2025”.

The tennis courts are being redone and we are also adding pickle ball courts!!

So excited to be moving forward and seeing progress!

We would love to have you stay with us in 2025! Please let me know if you have any weeks in mind! We have been back to Sanibel several times, since Ian hit and are amazed each time at how the island is recovering and bouncing back! There are many restaurants open, most of which we couldn’t even get in at dinner time, without a reservation! Sanibel is so strong!

Finally some progress!! Windows and framing! It has been such a long and slow road to this point, but finally seeing something happening in B5, makes us so happy!!

Hi all!

I made a quick trip down to Sanibel last week to go over blueprints and talk to a few contractors on the rebuild of our beautiful B5 Pointe Santo. I last visited in February and I was so happy to see the island vegetation coming back!

I appreciate all of the calls, texts and emails of concern over Our Happy Place. We realize this is just as heartbreaking to our guests, as it is for us, as it is your happy place, too! A year ago I never dreamed we would still be in a “gutted” phase, but here we are!!

Here are a few pictures. One is a rendering of what the new clubhouse will look like. Sadly, for those that don’t know, the old clubhouse was blown away and landed into the F Building, (located between the B & C buildings), and both were destroyed.

We have a motto in our family and that is “Control what you can control”. So that’s what I’m trying to do and practice! (Though it is frustrating!)

I am hopeful and I know Sanibel is strong!

We can’t wait to welcome you all back!

Hi all! I know we haven’t posted since a few days after the hurricane. It took some time to finally have confirmation of the extent of the damage that was done by Hurricane Ian. Sadly, all of the ground floor units did not fare well and will need to be rebuilt/redone, including our beloved B5 Pointe Santo.

As heartbroken as we are about the devastation, we also feel very fortunate. So many residents on Sanibel lost their homes, their primary residences. We are grateful that we have a home and are not displaced! We also intended to redo the kitchen and install new flooring, in the near future, so this will allow us the opportunity to do so.

Of course we are sad that not only are we not able to visit our home away from home, but we also can’t provide that for our amazing guests, either.

We don’t have an exact timeframe yet, as to when B5 Pointe Santo will be ready to welcome us all back. Our hopes are by the end of 2023, but we will continue to update here.

We have had so many people reach out to us and praying for our beautiful Sanibel and B5 Pointe Santo! We know this is just as much your home away from home, as it is ours! Because parts of the causeway have been washed away, we do not have any confirmed information on the complex and our condo. We were able to catch a glimpse of the complex, from a helicopter news station. We do know that Pointe Santo is still standing, (Thank you, God!🙏🏼), but the clubhouse has been washed away, as well as, the bridges to the pool.

Please continue to pray for Sanibel. The destruction being shown is devastating. I will continue to post updates on this page.
