If you have 25 minutes to spare, please enjoy this amazing drone tour that was filmed just after Hurricane Milton passed through Sanibel.

Narrated by one of our favorite videographers, Nick Adams, you'll get a birds-eye view of Sanibel and see how beautifully the properties and vegetation fared, as well as how the water moved across and through the island and beaches.

Note: many of the beach parking lots have been reopened since this was filmed.

Despite appearances, things are indeed looking 🆙 only a week after Hurricane Milton gave our beloved islands a bath.

All of our properties have passed their inspections with flying colors and we remain committed to welcoming you back to the islands.

Our office is being reimagined for a 3rd time, so we are working remotely on island until we are dried out and dressed up in time to celebrate our 28th anniversary this December.

The wildlife is on the move after Milton, and we are seeing them out of their natural habitat.

Water service has been restored along with electric services for most, and that means the cleanup can begin.

The island looks incredible, and Mother Nature will surely provide some rain to the now salty landscapes and vegetation that need to green up again. 🌴 🌳 🌺 🌀🚲 🐢 🐍 🚤

This was part of a 30+ linemen truck caravan leaving Captiva after a 12 hour shift in hot and messy conditions.

We will gladly sit in traffic and yield to these He-roes and She-roes as they restore power to these beloved islands!

Many thanks to Bailey's General Store for providing overnight parking for these hardworking crews.

A sole 🦩 is on Causeway A today, bringing immense joy to all who are driving the Happy Lane to Sanibel & Captiva.

In the equally Big News Department, the sanitary sewer service has been restored. Residents may now utilize indoor water for everyday conveniences.

Progress is all around us today!

Repairs are underway at Santiva to reinforce the roadways, and linemen are queuing up at the Sanibel School so that power restoration efforts can continue.

Comfort stations (aka Tupperware Toilets) are being strategically placed until the sanitary sewer system can be restored.

In addition, 33% of island residences and businesses have had their power restored, so we’ll be seeing a few restaurants reopen in the near future 🍽️ 💡

The sun is shining once again on the shores of Sanibel and we are grateful to have information being shared about current conditions of roadways and infrastructure.

To stay in the loop, please tune in today for an update from the City regarding post-Milton recovery/cleanup efforts and re-entry to Sanibel.

We will be focusing on assessing our properties in the coming days and we look forward to sharing updates here.

In keeping with our philosophy of always looking at the bright side, we will refrain from showing photos depicting damage to properties themselves. We are here to spread joy and shine a light on what makes Sanibel so special.
