Every season we try to make upgrades to C35. This was a big year with new furniture in the living room, dining room and guest bedroom. Our guests asked for a queen bed in one of the two guest bedrooms to make C35 more comfortable for couples traveling together. Take a look at our improvements.

Pointe Santo de Sanibel Condominium Resort

🌴 We are so excited to be working along side F.I.S.H. Of Sanibel and Captiva to help our neighbors and community. 🌴

🌴 Look for the new F.I.S.H. collection bins located at each building at Pointe Santo. 🌴

🌴 At the end of your stay, if you have any unopened, non-perishable food items remaining, just put them in the bin when you depart, and F.I.S.H. will add them to their food pantry for those in need in our island community. 🌴

F.I.S.H is a human services organization, focused for thirty seven years on ‘neighbors helping neighbors’. The mission of F.I.S.H. is to lend a helping hand to those who live, work or visit here. The F.I.S.H. vision is to enrich the lives of everyone on Sanibel and Captiva Islands through an array of Food Programs, Island Based Workshops, Social Services and Helping Hands.
For more information about F.I.S.H. visit fishofsancap.org.

Five turtle nests at Pointe Santo. Who wants to go watch baby sea turtles run to the water?

🌴 The Sea Turtles are here! 🌴

As a member of SCCF’s Adopt-A-Beach program, Pointe Santo is actively participating in protecting wildlife and conserving coastal resources on Sanibel and Captiva.

Sanibel is currently in the middle of a very busy sea turtle nesting
season, if fact, the island currently has over 457 nests!

🐚 Of these nests, Pointe Santo has been utilized by the turtles and entertains FIVE nests so far on our stretch of beach! 🐚

With so many turtles scooping out Sanibel’s beautiful beaches to lay their eggs, it is crucial for us to make them as turtle-friendly as possible.

How can we all be stewards in helping the sea turtles? Simply follow the easy steps below when visiting the beaches of Sanibel.

🌴 Adult and hatchling sea turtles have an innate tendency to move in the brightest direction, so turning off unnecessary lighting sources helps them go in the right direction.

🌴 Avoid using lights on the beach at night. If you must have light, use a red LED flashlight, adjust cell phone screens to dark mode, and turn off the flash on your camera.

🌴 Pack up all your belongings when you head home from the beach for the day. By leaving out chairs or other types of beach items, turtles can
become stranded when either trying to nest, or when hatchlings are trying to navigate to the ocean.

🌴 Remain at a distance from nesting sea turtles and hatchlings. It is illegal to harm, harass, or take sea turtles, their eggs, and hatchlings, including getting too close to a nesting female.

🌴 Collect and remove garbage along the beach. Doing so prevents sea turtles and wildlife from getting caught or ingesting trash that can have harmful consequences.

🌴 Correctly dispose of fishing lines so it won’t entangle sea turtles and other animals.

🌴 And lastly, fill in holes along the beach at the end of the day so nesting sea turtles and hatchlings don’t fall in and get trapped at night.

Little actions like these help make a big difference in the lives of these amazing animals!

Report sick, injured, entangled, or dead sea turtles to the SCCF Sea Turtle Hotline: 978-728-3663

Turtle Season on Sanibel Island & Captiva Island
Sea turtle nesting season runs from May 1st to October 31st

Sanibel Island & Captiva Island’s beaches provide the perfect subtropical nesting area for sea turtles, but please be sure to follow the guidelines of Sanibel Island and Captiva Island and turn off all lights that could draw attention away from the Gulf of Mexico to the land. By removing the light from the land and obstacles from the beach, baby sea turtles can find their way back to the water, where they need to be.

Summer and fall are the best seasons to see sea turtles on Sanibel. Has anyone ever seen one?

Yesterday, one of our owners, Ben Yokel, was lucky enough to be at the right place at the perfect time! 🐢

He witnessed release an adult female loggerhead sea turtle at Lighthouse Beach! She was at CROW for two months receiving treatment and rehab.
