We are a mountain retreat/recreation center with modern amenities a stones throw from Santa Fe NM.

Nestled at the southern end of the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Chain in northern New Mexico, Bishop’s Ridge: Stoney Camp and Recreation Center is the perfect setting for a group camping experience as well as for a private retreat. Enjoy a time of rest, relaxation, play, and spiritual renewal surrounded by enormous pine trees,

wide-open blue sky, wildlife, and abundant sunshine. Spanning more than 200 acres at 7,400 feet above sea level, the Stoney Camp and Recreation Center bridges the gap between the serenity of rugged wilderness and the modern conveniences of city life. Situated on the historic Old Santa Fe Trail, it is only 25 minutes from the Santa Fe Plaza and only 45 minutes from the Santa Fe Ski Basin.

Hello Friends! It was a pleasure to host a great group of young adults from most of last week….March 10-16! These students were in Santa Fe over their spring break to work service projects at local food banks and homeless shelters.

Hello Friends! It has been a busy January….not this past weekend…but the weekend before, we were happy to welcome in the youth group from Texico SDA! This group spent Friday and Saturday on campus with us, and on Sunday went skiing .

Hello Friends! Last Saturday we hosted over 70 guests for the 6th Annual Bishop’s Ridge Christmas Open House with music from the organizers of the and food from . Then on Sunday morning we hosted over 50 guests from which is located in Cerillos. It was their volunteer appreciation party.

Hello Friends! I cannot believe the Summer has passed, and we are well into Fall. It was a very busy summer at Bishop’s Ridge. At the end of May, we hosted students and faculty from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. offered a program titled Water in the West, which offered the students a “deep dive into learning about water issues first-hand through experts and experience.”

Hello Friends! Wow…since the end of March, all of April, and right into May…Bishop’s Ridge has been hosting events every week or weekend. In March we were happy to welcome in the retreat. This was a four day silent retreat with concentration on meditation, breath work, and yoga. Thank You Vivek .buffet.of.life and Zach for the opportunity to host this amazing workshop.

Bishop’s Ridge would like to Thank the great people at Anytime Plumbing in Santa Fe, for installing our new Rinnai tankless water heater in Cabin C. We had a breaker kick off on one of the coldest weekends of the season…and the old tank froze….it’s always something.

Hello Friends.
Bishop’s Ridge hosted over 70 guests this weekend. Over 50 teenagers from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho participated in a retreat. It was fantastic to see these young people deepen their relationship with Jesus, ✝️ and to see the dedication their spiritual leaders and volunteers invested in making this weekend truly transformational for this group of young Christian Sisters and Brothers.

Hello Friends. The Northwestern College Symphonic Band from Orange City, Iowa has been our guests the past three days. They are on tour across many different states, and they played a concert in Santa Fe Wednesday evening. The students also did a service project on Thursday, helping to clear branches that have been cut due to our continuing fire abatement plan. 50 students can get a lot of work done in a very short time. They left at 6:00am Friday morning on to their next concert in Kansas at 7:00pm Friday night.

Hello Friends! Bishop’s Ridge hosted the Prince of Peace Catholic Church’s youth group this past weekend! These students and their leaders committed themselves to keeping the fire burning in the Bishop’s Ridge fireplace for the entirety of their stay. The fire represented the Holy Spirit that burns inside of us. It was wonderful to see the youth sit in shifts, around the clock, committed to keeping the flame alight.

They hail from Asheville, North Carolina and were also a part of old time string band Jenny and the Hog Drovers.
