The annual sammich trip! Invited some little friends for a day of fishing the Destin Fishing Rodeo. Only thing you need to do is bring a sammich. Bang up day started with catching live bait followed by a stud Blackfin Tuna, Kingfish, legal Amberjack, Bonita, a huge 29 pound red grouper we had to throw back :(, and 10 vermillion snapper. They had the crowd fired up at the weigh in and we loved hearing about them enjoying their fresh catch for dinner. Thank you to Connley Fishing. Bryan sure makes some durable custom rods for our trips.

This guy... My longtime friend . Never been more than a couple of miles offshore. Take him 165 miles out and he lands a yellowfin tuna on a top water popper! He put a whoppin on that fish. To most seasoned anglers, that's about as good as it gets in fishing. It's all he has talked about since our trip Monday. He's currently in 2nd place on the Rodeo leaderboard.

3rd time's a charm! Longtime friend Mitch has made three trips down here wanting a big yellowfin tuna. 1st time mechanical problems on the boat (it happens), 2nd time no weather window, and then this trip down from KY made it all worthwhile. Multiple yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna, wahoo, a monster white marlin, and a pup swordfish on the way home. This trip put us on the board for 1st and 2nd place yellowfin in the Destin Fishing Rodeo! Let's hope it holds 🙏 lots of preparation and vendors/sponsors help to make trips like this happen.

A big Thank You to our partner Even with 30% only of their workforce this week with the hurricane, they knew we had a Tuna Trip leaving out and got this order out on time. These guys are fishermen and it shows. Ordered on Thurs, delivered on Friday. Most excited about their new product Six Gun Sabikis with the quick clip for weights.

Started off the morning with 4-5's and ended with this. I don't think I have ever seen the Gulf settle down so quickly. Calm before the storm... Made for a great ride back to the Rodeo scales.

Pro Tip. It took me awhile to get this but if the kids want to play in the livewell... Let them play in the livewell ❤️. Great charter today with old friends and their kiddos.

It was a bumpy 🌊 Monday with the hurricane in the Gulf but we made a plan and got it done. These young men did a fine job landing some reef donkeys.

Fish ID. Today was a 1st. Captain got to go out for a Sunday Funday trip bringing a 40ft Cabo back from the new marina in Port St Joe. You have to drop a line even if your just moving a boat...Right? Comment if you can name this fish. We don't see these too often in the Panhandle.

World's largest artificial reef is coming to Destin / Fort Walton Beach. SS United States is a historic record breaking ocean liner that's headed to the Gulf of Mexico's floor for a fish habitat. Alex and his team continue to amaze us with their efforts.

Okaloosa County has signed an agreement to purchase the SS United States, the historic ocean liner that holds the record for the fastest Atlantic crossing, with plans to create the world’s largest artificial reef off the coast of Destin-Fort Walton Beach.
