Try something new Tuesday. I’ve been loving BJJ at so I thought I’d try out some standing fighting…got my ass KICKED at (in a good way) There’s something to be said for uncomfortable training environments. Let’s just say I’m not used to getting tossed around, poked, tripped, and smacked on a regular basis.
My first reaction was “F*ck this I’m out, this guy is a jerk.” Then my fight or flight calmed down and I realized, life doesn’t care what you like or what you’re comfortable with. All you can do is deal with the situation in front of you. So I had to choose to either whimp out and say “never again” or as Goggins would say “stay hard” and choose to walk into the path of discomfort and learn how to be a better protector for my family and emotionally balanced human being in the face of adversity.
Here’s to a new fitness journey based around martial arts 🙂
