Pick up your FREE Erie Canalway 200th Anniversary calendar at the Saratoga Springs Visitor Center. The photos used to create this beautiful calendar are part of an annual photo contest, and the 2025 calendar includes several local winners!🎆

Note: Due to the cost of printing, there is a limited supply, and the Erie Canalway has requested we limit calendars to 1 per family.

When you stop by the Saratoga Springs Visitor Center, please be sure to experience all the fantastic exhibits and displays the Visitor Center has to offer. We are not just maps and brochures!

We are open Tuesday-Saturday 9 am- 5 pm until December 31, 2024.

We wrapped up our very successful 2024 Brown Bag Lunch Lecture Series on Thursday with the fascinating story of “The Kayaderosseras Patent” presented by Lorie Wies, retired local history librarian. It was nice to see Lorie presenting a program again-we love her style!😁

Those in attendance were treated to a story of the 70-year process that was marked by corruption, greed, and intrigue! We recognized the names of so many of our local towns and villages. Great research! A fascinating tale!👏

We would like to thank everyone who attended our lectures and those who helped to make them possible throughout the year. We would also like to give a big “Thank You” to all our guest speakers and our partners at the Saratoga Springs Public Library. Great teamwork!🤩🙌

Are you looking for a way to celebrate the Winter Solstice, December 21, 2024?❄️

Moreau Lake State Park will be offering “Making a Lantern for Winter Solstice” Drop by the nature center to learn about the Winter Solstice, why we have it, and how to make the most out of the shortest day of the year!🌲

Pop in anytime from 11-2 to learn and make a paper lantern, no registration required. If you have any questions, call the office at 518-793-0511.

We're a little late in celebrating National Mitten Tree Day on Friday Dec 6 but our mitten tree is still up and getting fuller by the day!🧤🧣

We'd like to give him a shout out to a kind and generous visitor that stopped by last week!😊

He saw our Mitten Tree and was moved by the mission. He went out and purchased these very nice warm, heavy socks and came back with them for our Mitten Tree!🧤

The Visitor Center had a very successful First Annual Holiday Decorating Party on Wednesday, November 27, 2024! We welcomed visitors and residents to share in the spirit of the season with hot chocolate, coffee & tea, cookies, and other treats while we kicked off the Mitten Tree Program with several donations!🧤🧣

Our Mitten Tree is off to a great start with warm weather wear donations and our Toys for Toga box if filling quickly!🧸🎁

Thank you to our generous community! If you haven’t had a chance to stop by with your donation, the Visitor Center is open Tuesday – Saturday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.😁

The Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitor Center is excited to announce the launch of their annual Mitten Tree Program!❄️🧤🧣

Starting Tuesday, November 19 through Saturday, January 4, members of the local community are invited to contribute warm winter wear to the Visitor Center Mitten Tree located at 297 Broadway in Saratoga Springs. All donations will benefit the following organizations: CAPTAIN Community Human Services, Franklin Community Center, and Shelters of Saratoga.😁

For half a century, the museum has been dedicated to the mission of bettering Saratoga County and preserving history with exhibits that offer guests a view of priceless artifacts and a variety of educational programs, serving both children and adults. The Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitor Center is proud to be a drop off location for toys for the “Toys for Toga” program. Please drop off any new, unwrapped toy to our visitor center until December 12, 2024.🥰

We are located at 297 Broadway, across from historic Congress Park – we’re open Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5pm.

Not a resident, but wish to contribute? Our visitors can contribute by scanning the QR code on the donation box - 100% of monetary donations will be split equally between local charities. All donations stay local.🤑
