BOW WOW!
While navigating into the Poe Locks in Sault, Michigan, the 1000-footer Edgar B. Speer is an impressive sight. What is particularly noteworthy about this image is that the Speers must still rise 21 feet to match the height of Lake Superior. This photograph was taken during a transportation operation for construction workers heading to the new lock project. We hope you find our posts informative and enjoyable! We have a just as many bow shots as butt shots! 😅🤣 Our first one is the Arthur M. Anderson dropping 21 feet in the Poe Lock here in Sault Michigan! We sure get some great shots from our tours! Hope you all enjoy them! :-)

This message is for the Ship Junkies Group. Their theme is "Ship Butts." As this is a public page, we asked the Edwin H. Gott to be a little discreet and after the 21 foot drop in the Poe Lock we now "Gott" the perfect "Butt" shot to share with everyone! ;-) We see lot of ship butts! 😂🤣😆😂

FOOTER FRIDAY
One more! This was a special treat for us! Not only that all three of our boats where in the same lock at the same time, we were all able to meet up with the 1000-footer James R. Barker for an amazing horn trio exchange with the James R Barker, who showed us who's the boss! LOL Great memories and great times to be had aboard the Original Soo Locks Boat Tours! We know how to have fun! Hope you all enjoyed this and thank you again David Kaye for the photo and capturing this moment! :-)

FOOTER FRIDAY! :-)
Hey Ship Junkies, loving the themes! From our parent company, one of our favorites, the M/V Stewart J. Cort, is leaving the Poe Lock here in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. We are all iced in now, and the snow just won't stop, but that isn't stopping us! We are counting down the days—97 days until our opening day on May 15th!
We have an exciting year planned and hope some of you can come up and visit us here in beautiful Michigan's Upper Peninsula! Keep warm everyone! :-)

Someone has quite a collection of Interlake Steamship Boats! You rock Maren Metro! :-)

Sooooooo apparently Boatwinkle is in charge of "Layup" at the Metro household... Yep he went back there because he was hounding me the entire ride home from the ISMA Convention to see "Mini Me" again and play with her and all her other moose friends... So I dropped him off and he has happily been hanging out ever since... Lots of animal action to watch out the windows there with eagles and fox and other things so that's keeping him busy but Maren said he needed to not forget about the layup fleet and be sure all was ok so here he is keeping a watchful eye on Maren's Fleet of ships ... His shirt even matches the hull color of them all!

I have soooooooo many Boatwinkle pics to share it's craziness... So many adventures he was on this season that I have not had a chance to post so I will have to find time to sneak some in throughout the next number of weeks before we start up again!

P.S. It's only 47 more days until the new season begins!! :D

I'll be back with more tonight if I can stay awake! LOL!

AM EST FRIDAY... Western and Central Chippewa County…..west and north of Pickford.

* WHAT...Gusty winds and snow are expected, transitioning to lake
effect snow tonight. Blowing and drifting snow. Total snow
accumulations between 2 and 5 inches, with locally higher amounts
possible. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Western and Central Chippewa County.

* WHEN...From 3 PM this afternoon to 7 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Very low visibilities will occur at times. Plan on
slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact
the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes.

* WHAT...Lake effect snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow
accumulations up to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. The
heaviest snowfall and the strongest winds are expected tonight.

* WHERE...Alger, Luce, and Northern Schoolcraft Counties.

* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing
snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
conditions will impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning
commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
