No sugar coating this one. The albacore bite went to crumbs for the fleet today. If you got a couple you were very fortunate.
We went up to Cordell Banks to look around and found schools of bluefin tuna feeding on saury. We put the big gear out and watched tuna breaking water for hours. A few BFT were land but we weren’t so lucky.
We’re taking some time off from the tuna. If something catches our interest again we will let you know.

Today we had 5 regulars that wanted to get out so we went and enjoyed a day on the water. Local rockfish and lingcod produced 3/4 limits and a fish a rod on lingcod. We switched gears in the afternoon and landed limits of halibut.
We have a tuna trip planned Monday with spots available. After that we’re starting to focus on deep water rockfish and lingcod.

Today we went the distance fishing an area 80 miles away from our spot on Sunday. We arrived on scene around 8:30 and immediately started catching. A single, a double, turned into a quad on the troll. The clickers going off got everyone’s blood pumping.
We hit a bit of a lull in the middle of the day but got on a good bait stop in the afternoon. We ended the day with 17 albacore with most fish between 15-25lbs. Fish are spread out all along the coast.
We will be watching the temp breaks and weather closely. Once we see something we like we will post another trip.

We ran out to the tuna grounds and worked the area outside our numbers from last trip. We worked with the Bass Tubb and located a good area of fish in 3000 feet of water. We had a few doubles on the troll and multiple live bait hook ups. All together the boat got stopped 6 times in about an hour. Unfortunately after that the fish didn’t come up for us the rest of the day. A few singles on the troll after that but no more bait fish. Ended the day with 1️⃣7️⃣ albacore.
We’re going to take the next few days off and get ready for Wednesday. We’re excited to get back on the water and we have 6 spots available.

Back on the coast today we had 19 anglers catching limits of lingcod (44 with crew) to 30lbs, 181 rockfish and a bonus halibut. The lingcod were so thick we had them going two at a time. Lots of large reds mixed in the baskets as well. Our next coastal combo trip is scheduled for Friday.

Headed in with 5️⃣2️⃣ TUNA on the OUTER LIMITS! Doubles, triples, and quads. The group did a great job working together fly lining anchovies to boiling tuna. Larger grade of fish today. Bruce takes home the trophy with the 35lbs longfin.

Biters!
Today we had 42 jumbo NorCal albacore out of Sausalito, CA.
70% of these fish came on live bait. We had them boiling around the boat. This is about as exciting as fishing gets. It’s been decades since we’ve seen them like this and we just opened up Sunday. 🙄

Went and helped out my friends in Noyo today. Glad I did we hooked over 100 albacore landing 89. We had 8 fish around 11am and put in 80 by 3pm. We left the fish biting ending our day with a triple. Really hoping some of these show up for us locally in the Bay Area this year!
French club went for the halibut and landed 18 flat ones. 🇫🇷
Kids day on the Outer Limits! The future looks bright judging by the group of kids we had on the boat today. Kind, talented and enthusiastic group of youngsters. Over a 100 bass landed and a hand full of halibut.

Another great haul out with our friends at KKMI. We spent two weeks in Richmond working hard to get the boat ready for the 2024 season. It was fun seeing the other charter boats and catching up with old friends as everyone gets ready. Hoping for a successful season for everyone!

Today we did a supply run for the Farallon Islands. We had a few hours of down time so we caught crew limits of lingcod outside the middle islands. The video shows Captain Court reeling in a 20lbs lingcod on a flat calm ocean. We’re going to wait for the blow to pass before we start running offshore trips again.
