Also located nearby is BRASSTOWN BALD, Georgia's highest mountain [Elevation 4784 feet]. On clear days, you can see 4 states from the mountaintop Visitor Center: Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, and North Carolina, including a view of the Great Smoky Mountains!

Meet the band who'll be playing for the April 27 Sautee Community Contra Dance.
Appalachian Roots is a group of young 'uns 17-20 who play old time, bluegrass, and Celtic music. They all began playing in highschool and started music at a young age. Ryn Riley on fiddle is currently studying nursing, River Riley on guitar is still in highschool, and Porter Nesbitt on banjo and cajon is in flight school. They love playing for contra dances and bring a young energy.

BRASSTOWN BALD Visitor Center

The highest point in Georgia, and usually the coldest point in Georgia… check ahead for winter road conditions before making the drive to the top of the mountain.

❤️❤️

WATER SYSTEM WINTERIZATION IN EFFECT – Due to fast approaching cold weather and winter, modern restroom facilities have been winterized and are no longer available for use this season. CXT and portable toilets are available in the parking lot and on the summit. There will not be any potable water available at the Visitors Center until April 1, 2024 so be sure to bring drinking water along for your next adventure. Looking forward to seeing you as you Go FIND Outdoors!
