Travel Advisor Tuesday: Embracing Wabi-Sabi Moments 🌍✈️ Why Choose Us?

Even as a seasoned travel advisor, I'm reminded that travel isn't always smooth sailing. Two weeks ago, I learned this first-hand when I reached the Savannah airport only to find I’d forgotten my ID (no, it wasn’t due to St. Patrick's Day pre-partying!).

I realized I didn't have ID when I went to the airline check-in counter. Amazingly, the airline let me check my bag. I tried to use Clear, but Savannah only has "mini-Clear" so ID is required. Then the supervisory TSA officer had to call up the TSA national # to verify all my identity data. After a 20-minute hold and clearance, the officer had to es**rt me to the next TSA person, and then there was a comprehensive check of my tote bag. It was that hand check that caused me to ultimately miss the flight.

Despite missing my flight, I learned: always plan for extra time if you misplace your ID – around two hours should do the trick! And don't despair if you have lost your ID!

PS - Wabi Sabi is the Japanese word for "imperfection". I embraced my own imperfection and saw it as an opportunity for learning and hopefully making other travelers' experiences easier.
