20 years of research has culminated in the completion of the first casualty list of the Army of Mississippi. Over 11,000 names (organized by last name or organized by unit) has been created from over 200 sources. From this research, I have produced a narrative that gives an overview of what occurred on the banks of the Tennessee. The efforts to handle the tremendous number of dead is discussed, what happened to the wounded as they made their way southward and POW’s as they left the battlefield of Shiloh for an unknown fate.
