A toast. To all the spirits at Moon River who ever touched a REM Pod, spoke through a spirit box, or rang a dead bell. To the spirit of James Stark, to William Sartelle, to the Lady in White. To all the spirits who ran above us on empty floors, who knocked when requested, whose scream was heard on all five floors, who flicked me behind the ear. To the negative spirit, to the trickster, to the Madam. To the victims of Yellow Fever, the ladies of the night, the unlucky guests. To the building I felt most at home & always ill at ease. To the ghosts I know by voice, by touch, & by aura. May this not be goodbye, but see you soon. May we find each other again, in this life or the next.
