The Gingerbread House is an iconic and elaborate architectural wonder that is a must-see highlight of Savannah's Historic District. The Olde Pink House is a renowned restaurant and a historic landmark in Savannah. Originally built in 1771, the building was constructed with red bricks and then coated with white plaster. As time passed, the red bricks began to show through the plaster, giving the building a pink tint. This unique characteristic led to the name 'The Olde Pink House'. In the 1920s, the property was converted into a restaurant and the new owner decided to paint the entire building pink, in keeping with the theme. Today, the iconic pink color of the building is one of the reasons why it is a favorite spot for both locals and visitors who come to enjoy the authentic southern cuisine served there.
